Best: Never too late just supposin (only since lockdown I’ve been repeatedly playing this) Blue for you Worst: Thirsty work Back to back Can’t stand the heat Aquostic 2 All the covers albums. Bula quo - not even sure I’ve listed to this. It’s the first quo album I never bought. All the rest: depends on my mood as to what order I understand that the song writing is less formulaic and songs spiral off into exciting new directions on the pre 77 albums which is great, but probably over familiarity mean I rarely listen to them from start to finish Never too late is an album I never, ever get tired of playing all the way through. Yep same for me after almost 40 years that the album came out

Without sounding pretentious listening to never too late take me on a bit of a journey. It’s one quo album that is satisfying as a whole start to finish and more than the sum of its parts.
Side one is quite light mood wise, but side 2 is much darker in tone and mood.
I think side 2 is the best thing they ever recorded

That solo and that constant repeating octave bass... the lyric of course... one of my absolute favorite quo songs ever

Favourite Quo Album: On The Level

It seems that no matter what we put on top and in between, most of us put Aquostic II at the bottom. Whatever the reason for this, it seems that acoustic albums never go well anymore. The Unplugged trend is dying(?). I'd put Aquostic II above Aquostic I, because it has a more obscure track listing, and less is more, and some of the arrangements are a bit more out there and unpredictable.
Pretty sure the unplugged thing came and went years ago, but maybe Quo finally killed it completely!

Gold : Dog through to Live! NTL just as loved. Amazing albums Silver : MKGS, RAOTW, Heat, HT, WYW, JS - great albums Bronze : UTI,4th chord, backbone, Quid Pro Quo, 1982, Back to Back - generally good albums
The rest - not worth a medal but all with something I like.

Never understood the love for Never Too Late. I don't so much dislike the songs as I rather dislike what they've done with them. For me it rivals If You Can't Stand The Heat for the weakest album '70-'81. The curious thing is that it's sister album, Just Supposin' is my favourite post Live! album.

I suspect its more popular with those of us who are probably somewhere around 50-55. Quo were still winning new fans at that time and more again off the back of the NWOBHM. Like no other this is rock from start to finish. The sound is great What a shame the sound wasn't the blueprint for the rest of the decade

I think side 2 is the best thing they ever recorded Side two is a little bit odd in the way that there are no guitar solos and all the vocals is sung in harmony (which is true to side A as well with some exceptions). It's not my favorite side of the record. I don't agree with those who says that NTL is just leftovers from JS. To me they are equal. Totally different in sound but just as good.

Until it's release, I thought that, with the preceding album, they'd found a new way forward that'd stand them in good stead for years to come. For me, Never Too Late was a complete let down in comparison. Having said that, they've not released anything better since, imo.

Slightly dirtier, less professional than JS, which is also excellent I think Quo should be rough around the edges. NTL sure is Had I been a long term fan of the band I might have seen the signs of the band disintegrating with NTL, eg only Francis singing, lyrics to enough is enough etc Quite a bit of the material on JS is better quality but for me, NTL is enjoyable from start to finish. It just hits the spot, its got the oomph that was never there afterwards. Of course, as the first studio album I bought I'm bound to feel differently about it than older fans

To my ears the guitars aren't prominent enough, which rather blands it out a bit for me. The excess of Francis on vocals doesn't help either, of course. Lack of oomph was one of the biggest problems with post Live! releases, for me, & I feel that Whatever You Want & Just Supposin' suffer from this less than the other releases '77-'81. Nonetheless, I still like this album - as I do almost all their output '70-'81. After this it wasn't really very much like listening to the same band, imo.
