my first proper Quo album (I only had 12GB and pye comps upto this point) and was my favourite for a long, long time.
released at a time when the band were courting Heavy Metal fans, it remains the only Quo album without ballad or acoustic moment.
And yes it would be better without some of the backing vocals, and yes some vocals from Rick and Alan would have improved it further. And yes Riverside has a demo feel to it, but god it's still wickedly good as it is
But the fact that this album could have been even better doesn't detract from the fact it rocks like hell and just works! This hits the spot, and god it's powerful.
I suspect that if we checked out the ages of the posters here, it would be far more popular with the 40 somethings than with the late 50's and 60 something fans
Never again did Quo have this oomph
Love it. I just wish I got Mountain Lady like others do, as I find it very listenable but not awesome.
I'll go with 9.75. A remix could take it to 11
