The keyboard solo in Anniversary Waltz P1 @1.13 is such a 90's casio keyboard sound

Caroline & Rain, September 2000 Session - Coming this Friday (13th August) at 17:00 (GMT) Excellent. This is a really good version of Rain I think these are the two "previously unreleased" tracks that came out on that "Readers Digest" compilation ages ago.

Is there footage of that version of Caroline without the talking over it ?
And as an aside - does the unbroadcast footage of The One and Only exist ?
I think The Wanderer/ 4500 Times/ Rain/ Solid Gold were played that day too ?

It will do in the BBC archives somewhere, with Quo having released Caroline / Rain / Down Down and Rockin' All Over The World without commentary over two separate releases - however the full set from "The One and Only" doesn't seem to exist. Everywhere I've seen it listed just seems to be copies of the TV broadcast edit

I think you're right. The band never performed Break The Rules on TOTP. It's a long time ago but I like to think I wouldn't have missed that. I always stayed in to watch the prog if Quo were in the charts - just in case. You never knew who was going to be on it from one week to the next unless a song was no.1. Isn't the story that they were stuck in Holland or somewhere when they were supposed to appear one week?

Hershie? totparchive.co.uk/episode?id=541Thought I should reply since you mentioned me specifically, but as the others have correctly said, it was over the end credits/crowd dancing, as far as the records of a wiped show suggest. That mention of a studio performance definitely seems like an error. The week previously it featured as the first track, with the chart rundown and the audience dancing. Typically that second show is one of the latest episodes I've seen records of for that show nothing at all surviving, although a lot (like the one before) have bits only existing from being used in other episodes or shown as inserts abroad. Episodes missing from the archives right up until 1977; the latest missing one is September 1977 iirc.

I think it's an indication of just how popular Quo were that they eventually got to no.8 without having appeared on the show to promote the single. Just as an aside, has anyone seen any footage of them performing Break The Rules on TV around this time? From anywhere in Europe I mean. I'm pretty sure I haven't. These charts put up by hershie don't half take me back! It's either a sign of my age (very likely! ) or a reflection of today's music that I remember every single song listed in those two TOTP episodes from 1974. Vince Hill? My mum would have stayed in that night

I only remember BTR being on the Sunday evening chart show on Radio 1 around this time, but have no memory of watching the relevant TOTP show - after all its only 47 years ago!!!.
Coincidentally a month previously they were on US TV's The Midnight Special playing 'Big Fat Mama'. I's really love to see a video of that. Lots of Midnight Special out there but unfortunately the only clip from that show is with Gladys Knight. Busy times for the FF though!

I've been desperately looking for the Midnight Special stuff recently. There's photos of them on set but nothing has showed up of them on the show. It's definitely something that exists in the archives and it's gonna turn up one day.. As I think Quoincidence has mentioned previously there's also some private 8mm footage from the USA that we've not managed to track down yet that's known to exist.

Yeah, the 8mm footage was captured during the Piledriver tour in New York. I doubt we'll ever see the Midnight Special footage, unless NBC rerun any of those episodes. Alan wanted a short snippet of it for Hello Quo! but it cost too much to even be reasonable within the budget guide he was working with.
