Unbelievably it’s twenty years ago today that Quo performed at the Shepherd’s Bush Empire.
What are everyone’s memories ?
Little did we know it was to be Jeff’s last gig.
I remember liking the album at the time, however hearing it at covert volume probably had a lot to do with that.
The live gig was a stormer .
And we got a free T-shirt !

Three tracks off that were released as b-sides / bonus tracks, right? I wonder if the whole gig could be released at some point.

Yeah! Gerdundula, 4500 Times/Rain The crowd singing at the start of 4500 Times is brilliant. Quoincidence may know if the whole gig still exists in the vaults

That was a great gig and i think i met you Cammy. Was one of those gigs that took me by surprise. Quo audience was dwindling and becoming quieter around that time, and then this was full of energy with lots of bouncing and what not. Shame they never released more from that gig. Or recorded the live bit as an extra with th FITLC video

I have the 2006 remaster of FITLC but I don't remember listening to that!

It'll be the master mix that Forty Five Hundred Times / Rain & Gerdundula came from, as it's a prod. master... no multitracks. Not a clue about the footage for it. Can't seem to find that anywhere.

@cammy 20 years. Yeah i can't believe that at all, that's almost half my life ago. Mind you it really doesn't seem like 7 years since the Frantic 4 or 13 years since the Led Zeppelin reunion!
UP until the FF id say Shepherds Bush was one of the rowdiest / best gigs id ever been to.

Quoincidence Is it not owned by the BBC? - they featured WYW from this gig in the Danny Baker documentary of the same time.

I thought I was at that one.
But now I think I wasn't. I can't find a ticket stub. Probably rememberhing the 30th Anniversary Fan Club gig at Brixton.
But I was at SOMETHING where they played the covers first ... <puzzled>
Never mind!

Really good night
Feels like longer than 20 years to me.. a feck of a lot has happened since!!
There were a few moments I winced during the album playback, runaround sue springs to mind! The audience was great, it felt very live during things like way down
The gig was very spirited, felt like the band was proving something. 4500x was special. Exciting for band and fans alike, in fact it's the most excited I ever saw Rhino
Loved the tube journey afterwards. Started our chant...and it came back to me from another carriage. Kept hearing it for ages, love stuff like that 😆👍
The guy legally called Status Quo chatted to me on the train. He was very down and thought they should pack up. I remember saying they shouldnt bother making albums of that's all they can do now but they could still be brilliant live
