I loved seeing them play that on the Hello Quo film. Embarrassed to say that I didn't know the song but its a Van numberisn't it, from before he went solo. I don't think of it as a Quo song though. Was it something they played before they had enough material of their own for a set? I wouldn't want to drop a more familiar Quo track for it. I did not know it before either but enjoyed seeing that clip again. I think it would be good live but as you say, there are more Quo tracks that I would like to see played first. Thanks for this thread guys, it made me look up the cd's and dvd and I would really like to get a VHS copy of Live at the BBC, as from one of the reviews I gather it had more songs on it. I looked up the DVD track listing on www.discogs.com/Status-Quo-Live-At-The-BBC/release/6710639 CG, didn't you recommend it once? Was it the DVD or the VHS that you have? I wondered if the 4500x video that was posted recently is included? I think I will have to got to some car boot sales...?

Viv - all I have is The Party Aint Over Yet dvd and on the extras - mislabelled though as from 74 Wembley - is the 20 min version of 4500x from the 1982 Prince Charlie gig. I got that for around £5 online. And worth every penny. i also enjoyed the recording of the ablum (see I've done it again) doc on it. Made wish I was there too.

The VHS version of the 1982 concert has these tracks on it. 1 Caroline 2 Roll Over Lay Down 3 Backwater 4 Little Lady 5 Don't Drive My Car 6 Whatever You Want 7 Hold You Back 8 RAOTW 9 Over The Edge 10 Big Fat Mama 11 Roadhouse Blues 12 Rain 13 Down Down 14 Bye Bye Johnny (called Johnny B Good on the Cover) Dont Waste My Time, Dirty Water and 4500 Times are missing.

They should've recorded it for the likes of Ma Kelly's or Dog. It sounds like it could've worked on one of them.

Sounded ok when they did a BBC session of it back in 1968.

Alan sang it with the Party Boys for years, I always assumed that's why they did it on the hello Quo session,

It was a great song in 1964, it's a great song now. Listen to those guitars ... that's how guitars should sound.
