According to Spud on his face book site, Alan is thinking of auctioning three of his bass guitars off and one of Ricks guitars.
Anyone interested should contact Gillie .
Sorry I dont have a link, but pictures of The Travis, Kramer, Fender Mustang and Sheckter Telecaster are on his site.

Heads up: Alan is thinking of auctioning 3 of his bass guitars this year, all having been used throughout the Quo years, and also Rick’s Schecter.... do let Gillie know if you are interested prior to the auction, saving you the buyer’s commission. She will pass all enquiries on to Alan 🎸 The original 1967 Fender Mustang Bass Travis Bean TB2000 Bass Guitar Kramer 350B Bass Guitar Schecter Telecaster Guitar

Looking forward to this getting as much stick as Rossi selling his knackered green tele 🙈🙈 Why would it get anywhere near that sort of stick. The green and white teles are a HUGE part of Quos history. Those 3 bass guitars were used for brief periods. 1979-1982 1984-1985 and the top one (below the 81 pic) was used during the Reunion tours. That schecter of Rick's was never used live regardless of the last picture, as that's a Fender... didn't know he had another Schecter tbh.

Very suprised he's selling the Mustang, and even more suprised no-one's picked up on that. One of his originals from way back in the early days, and *possibly* significant in that he is perhaps retiring from live performing for good? I hope not, but not a suprise.
The Mustang i am fairly certain (having read about it) used to look different back in the day, and he's since had a new scratchplate on it, plus a repaint. Not sure when though.
Correct me if i'm wrong though!
Three very iconic Alan Lancaster guitars there, regardless of their brevity on the live stage.

The Mustang was originally white so wonder if it's the same guitar as those early 70s clips Down the Dustpipe etc If the Travis wasnt used for long Al has a dirty arm looking at the pic of it !

It was he stripped the finish off of it and left it natural wood for a while (Paper Plane Video), then he stained it dark brown. The scratchplate had a refective finish put over it. Intrestingly around the time that Thin Lizzy supported Quo, I wonder who influenced who as Phil fitted refective finishes on his basses around that time as well.

I read that Phil was influenced by Slade. Around that time Quo supported Slade so it could be the same influence.

Yes I forgot that Noddy used to use his mirrored hat to illuminate people in the audience.
