Not impossible, but I think it's likely that Long Legged Linda came first - I used to have a live Reading Festival 1973 LP on which Andy played it (and Quo DWMT) - Supersonic started production two years later in 1975
Off track perhaps, but Andy B wrote and performed his track 'Supersonic' as the theme for the music TV show of that name in the mid 70s. Think it could easily have morphed into Andy's 'Long Legged Linda'.

I was listening to Halloween yesterday and, of course, it references If You Can't Stand The Heat.
Not an actual song but I guess it counts.

Was watching a film on TV last night ('Young Adult') and was surprised to hear Status Quo mentioned in the lyrics of the main theme song which me think of this discussion although it is a reference 'in songs by others'. (It also has a slight 12 bar riff at times)
Teenage Fanclub:- The Concept
Lyrics: She wears denim wherever she goes Says she's gonna get some records by the Status Quo Oh yeah... Oh yeah...
