I live in Folkestone and have been tasked with trying to get in contact with Pete Kircher who was born here.
We have a project as we have been classed as a #folkestonemusictown and we would like to honour the man with a plaque where he was born. We already have one plaque done for Noel Redding who was also born in Folkestone.
If anyone has any contact details for Pete please could you get in contact with me as we would love to honour his musical services.
Cheers.

Hello,
Welcome to our forum. What a lovely idea and way to commemorate a member of our beloved Quo.
As you're a new member, I suspect other forumites won't be able to PM you directly yet. New members have to make a number of posts before they can send private messages. This protects current members from unwanted messages by people they don't know.
However, if any one wishes one of the mods to forward any contact details to you, we will of course in strictest confidence.
Can anyone with information not post anything publicly that might expose Pete. He is clearly a very private man and we wish to respect that.
Good luck with your search.

He is/was a sign painter in recent years i think?
Quite ironic then that he's so hard to find...

I think he must be around 75 now.
He seems very hard to track down. Even the name of his songwriting company would be a start

I think he must be around 75 now. He seems very hard to track down. Even the name of his songwriting company would be a start When a film was made about Quo a few years back, all past members were contacted. Pete sent a short letter back saying he wanted his privacy to be respected and that he didn't want to get involved. As far as I know, he's not given a single interview since leaving Quo mid eighties. He certainly doesn't seem to want any limelight. Hope I am wrong, but suspect you may have real difficulty with this! Might be worth contacting Alan Parker, who directed HelloQuo. He's the one who wrote to Pete, so he at least knows where he is. Good luck and let us know how you get on !

So...
Have been in contact with Alan G Parker , who I looked up on Facebook and replied to me straight away which was very kind if him.
Unfortunately he had no info and that he is a extremely private man who really doesn't want anything to do with his music past.
Alan did say that it was the quo management that contacted Pete and that I should talk to them.......so the next question is, does anyone have an email address for Quos management company ?

The manager is Simon Porter, Duroc Media. I've not got an email but he's here on LinkedIn uk.linkedin.com/in/simon-porter-96a3047Good luck !

Not a peep for 35 years.
Hes not on any google search apart from.one where he met some pre Quo band members somewhere up in Scotland but there was no photo.
Possibly was another person angry at being let go for not doing absolutely nothing wrong?

By the sound of it, he wasn't so much let go, more completely forgotten about.

I wonder if Francis has been asked in recent year's how he feels about it now? He was quoted in one of the books with "Pete didn't seem too miffed he didn't get the call. He was a nice guy and we could have carried on with him", and that's all we've had on the subject
I expect Pete was too dignified to complain about it but expect he was still deeply hurt.
Francis treatment of Alan is understandable in that he simply couldn't work with him anymore. By all accounts, Pete was a quiet gent who never did nothing wrong. The dumping of Pete seems nothing other than perversely unfair
Funny the things you remember...
Pete was asked what he likes best in a woman "Bum first, then tits"
Honestly, that's the only thing I know about him 😆

By the sound of it, he wasn't so much let go, more completely forgotten about. Forgotten about? Rossi used both Pete and Andy for his solo album with Bernie Frost... then again, Andy has said he only found out about the band getting back together via Iain Jones catching him on the road driving past one another. I suppose Pete wasn't too arsed at the time. He was the oldest in the band and would have probably been with Quo until he decided to retire

I remember, around the time of In the Army Now, that Rossi said he felt a bit guilty about not keeping the Great Pete Kircher. But as far as he was concerned the ITAN album was just to get the record company off their backs. No big deal, just a one off. And here’s Rick with his own rhythm section, why not just go along with it. And then they had a massive hit! And suddenly they are headlining the Reading Festival. I was there, it were great. There’s also an Interview with Rhino where he says the album was just done on a session basis. He didn’t really expect it to go any further and wasn’t that bothered about touring until Rossi told him how much he’d get. Then it was,.....ok, let’s go. As for seeking out Mr. Kircher.....leave him alone.

It seems weird that he just retired and went out of the limelight after 1985. Played at Wembley (last gig), some session work with Rossi and then nada, zilch. Was he not a jobbing drummer at least, looking for the next job? He would have been quite high profile at the time with Quo and yet he just disappears out of the business. Strange!
