Threw this together using the audio from the Sunday Mirror // Daily Mirror 40th Anniversary 'Status Quo & Friends Souvenir' and the Party Ain't Over Yet Special Edition.

One of my favourite gigs. I loved every minute of it and the Liverpool crowd were fantastic. I thought these recordings captured the band and the atmosphere pretty well. I ended up buying about half a dozen copies of each Sunday Mirror. I have no idea why So I have a glut of these CD's kicking about. But the rendition of Rain here is still the best one I've heard. Nailed. A word in passing for the support act, which was Paul Carrack. He was excellent; one of the best supports I'd seen for Quo and he worked the crowd up very nicely. Nice one, Mr Q.

When you mentioned it on the other side, it got me thinking and I asked about the gig but it's not in Rossi's archive. Paxman might know where it is as he's mixed the gig. Possibly in the Sanctuary archives. Anyway, I decided to put the audio we have available from the gig together and remaster it. Wasn't much I could do to make SBYBIL and Break The Rules flow into each other properly due to the fade out / fade in, which was a massive pain, but the rest was really easy to do. Sounds great through a good set of speakers The picture is also from the Summer Pops Show, taken by Jon Clare. Cheers!
