Crowd enjoyed it.
Personally thought it was fine. Rick is seriously missed though. The change in the feel of the songs is evident without him and his harmonies were vital.
Liberty Lane sounded good I thought. Better than the record

Watching it on iPlayer now - the sound/mix is great! Loads of energy too. Doing themselves no harm with the aul' general public....

Well anytime I hear , the phrase STATUS QUO are still going strong after 50 years I throw up, but I actually enjoyed listening to the full set list while driving home, but yes Ricks hammering rhythm is sadly missed and Rhinos singing is pretty much unbearable . But ill say it again i enjoyed it ,but in all fairness it was all good old FF material except 2 or was it 3 songs.

I loved the overall sound. Superb drumming from Leon.

My sister was there today. She is not a Quo fan like her two brothers but she said Quo got the best reception and crowd response of all the other acts. Well done!

Pretty good to my ears. Not better than FF of course, Francis is 70! but a whole lot better than some of the comments suggest.I'm enjoying it.

Could somebody explain to this American what Radio 2 is? I saw Rossi's pre-interview and he squirmed around like he needed to pee really badly.

I thought the mix was awful tbh. Richies guitar was buried in the mix, and the keyboards seem to be way up there to contemplate for Ricks heavy Rhythm missing from the band... but they seriously need to let Richie shine through the mix, and he needs to sings more.
He'd start to sing the choruses and back off from the mic, like Railroad for example and Roll Over Lay Down

I thought it was a brilliant performance. Leon's drumming was seriously good. I didn't think keyboards were too loud apart from the WYW outro. Sure Rhino's vocals are not a patch on Rick in his prime but then again Rick sadly in his last few years was way off the pace vocally. It's amazing to think that Rossi at 70 can still achieve this.

Hi all. I watched it live on the red button and thought Quo were great, but they usually are to me, I've never had a problem with any line up as a live band, they have always delivered a great live show and today was no exception. Fair play to them. They seem to be in a good groove at the moment.
Richie has a good voice and for me this line up moving forward need to use it more when they play full length gigs and on any future records. I would like them to scrap the medleys and play tunes in full, I'd get him on, at the very least, Little Lady, Big fat Mama, Mystery Song (full single version with lead break) and one obscure album track something like Reason For Living, Your Smiling Face, Rockers Rollin, One Man Band etc.
I have no issues with Rhino singing either, he hasn't got a great voice, but as I've said before it's not opera, I've never been into metal and screamy shouty vocals, so Rhino singing with Quo is fine for me. What I will say though, is some songs just suit him better and I think they need to find the balance, Rain sounds good, Backwater maybe not so good for example. I really like Rain at the minute, they seem to enjoy playing it and Rhino does a good job with it, I'd keep him on that one at the mo as I think it's ok.
Hyde Park was always going to be the usual short 50 mins hits set, but they delivered, sound was good, crowd enjoyed, job done.
I thought Roll Over Lay Down was better today, maybe just me, but enjoyed it. I do prefer Down Down from a few years back when Rossi was more aggressive and louder with the intro and his build up parts, just thought they used to work really well in the live setting and really got crowd going.
Right I will try and post my Backbone review at some point, bit late with it, I've tried to give it a few listens and let the dust settle. I was at a crossroads with Quo when we had the FF reunion, thought we might get some new recorded material from them, some more gigs, then Bula happened, Aquostic, and then the FF is lost forever with Rick going. I lost a bit of interest in the modern version of Quo and said as much a few times on here, but my interest has been switched back on. I think I'm just grateful for the music and to have a great version of this band still going, still recording, still gigging and producing. Whatever we think of Rossi at times, to still be up on that stage at 70 producing what he does is credit to him, he moves around that stage like a man 20 years younger.
Enjoyed being able to watch them and thought they delivered, did nothing wrong for me today. Last time I saw modern version of Quo was before the reunions, think it was 2011, then I went to both 2013 and 2014 reunion tours, haven't been since, but I'm going to go see them if they tour next year.

First time I’ve seen them with Ritchie in a live setting. A few thoughts...
Rossi struggles for breath, which is understandable as the man is now 70. However he still has a strong voice and I thought overall he sang really well. Really well.
Leon’s drumming is a revelation at times.
I thought the band were very tight. And so did my wife who doesn’t like quo but has been dragged along in the past. She also remarks on how good Francis is as a front man every time she sees them.
Ritchie I think I’d purposefully taking a back seat as he isn’t rick. If he was up the front rockin out with a guitar at full volume I think people would have something to say about that too. He does a creditable Job
Rhinos singing isn’t amazing but it’s no worse than ricks in the latter stages of his career. Listen to the concert for Diana if you need proof.
Thought Andy did ok with whatever you want
If quo are to continue in any form then I think they are doing a grand job. No it’s not the FF, because they aren’t 22 and neither are we. It’s what status quo has become through old age, death, dropping energy levels etc. I’m fine with that. I’m glad they make people happy still.
It’s a little sad that that makes some people Unhappy.

That's kind of how I have been feeling about the band over the past 3 years. They needed to do an album in my mind to show what they are still capable of. The ongoing arguments about Rick's family and fans vs the rest of the band has spoilt my love of the band over the past 3 years. I understand the sentiment from some but I found myself split down the middle with my own feelings about what's happened. Backbone has turned a corner for me personally and I am now back feeling upbeat about them. Rick is always there for me in one form or another as he helped shape the music but now the band has to me proved itself with an album I no longer have any issues with them carrying on.

Radio 2 is the biggest uk radio station with approx 12 million listeners. Today’s Hyde park gig was broadcasted simultaneously on BBC tv & BBC radio 2. Very good promo for Quo & they delivered.
