Only 30 years ago we had to write to the Box Offices ... Don't forget your SAE! I was at both the Wembley shows 10 & 11 May and the NEC gig the next night. Must have got the tickets via the trusty SAE but whilst down here in the smoke, scooted off to Hammersmith to get the tickets announced for later in the year (got 3 nights)! Those were the days!

So pre internet to get tickets for concert's did you have to go to the venue for tickets or write to the venue's box office for a ticket and they send you out a ticket with your seat location in the post?

Mainly I got my tickets by sending out an SAE to the venue with an accompanying letter telling them what band and date I wanted. If I remember correctly you received whatever they had, there was no picking of the seats back then. Also you could queue at the venue when the tickets were announced and hope they didn't sell out before you got to the ticket office! Ahh them were the days!

If I remember correctly, the post office charged extra for the use of a postal order.

Yes. We ended up behind the stage at one Led Zep concert. (Who knew?) It was still a great show!
