I don't want to say 'those were the day's' but they bloody well were! They may have been without JC but the band were still on fine form. Hanging out at the side entrance to say hi as the band arrived for soundcheck each afternoon and waiting out in the cold each night eager to get a spot backstage. Milk train back home late at night only to do it all again the next day! 7 nights in a row in 82 and another 7 nights in a row in 84! Who else attended all 14?

All 14 nights ...that's dedication!
I think I managed about 10 overall at Hammersmith in '82 and '84 and no milk trains involved fortunately.
I think about those days now and then, and how it was quite normal (?!) for Quo fans to do the multiple nights on the tours. Can't think of any band, except Quo, that I needed to see anymore than once or twice in any year.

My Hammersmith history is Dec 1974 - March 2014, I did 3 in a row in 1979. The 82 & 84 tours, I did every other night. I can remember going to the Britiania pub during the 70s for a few pre gig pint or 2, followed by the short walk to Hammersmith (Quodeon) Odeon under an underpass, that always had the stench of urian and the official merchandise stands were always 5 deep with fans buying the latest t shirts, patches etc.

I remember attending the Friday gig with some mates & the Saturday gig with my girlfriend, as she then was. I saw them at a few gigs in '84 but none at Hammy.

Back then it was handy having the car park right next to the 'Quodeon' (nice one kursaal75) situated under the flyover. Would occasionally see a few faces, such as Lemmy and Rick Wakeman, heading back to the car park after a Quo gig.

Strange thing is I've never been to the Hammy 🙄 In fact the only Quo gig I've done in London was Wembley... Don't get me wrong I would have loved to have been to the Hammy and the Apollo in Glasgow. But for me, since the late 70s, I've just done the Northern venues. Sheffield, Hull, York, Scarborough, Manchester, Liverpool, Halifax, I'm sure there's more! But the best in my opinion has to be the superb Bridlington Spa. Always a cracking gig there. 😁😁

For me, one night in 1982 (including the back door. Wasn't it nice back then with no spiky fences ... )
Then learned a few lessions, gave up trying to do every night (it just overloads my delicate sensory perceptions and results in Kia Ora overdose), sold my extra tickets to some nice gents in Essex and did every-other-night a few times. (With side entrance and back door.) Even dragged the sister and the other half along once or twice. (He's good, she wasn't so sure.)
I miss Quo at the Odean. I became fond of Wembley Arena, knew where to sit and when they were likely to come out. But it's not quite the same.
(Milk train? I think I missed that :-) I remember a couple of night standing out in Archway far far too late waiting for a patient friend to pick me up and lend me their sofa.)

What a cracking pic. I did a couple at the Hammy that tour,so I can remember that sign (I have it in a photo I took somewhere up in the loft). Also did Cornwall, S*uthampt*n, Cornwall, Brighton, Birmingham and Donington that year!
