The scheduling of the Irish/N.Irish dates is pretty bizarre - I live fairly close to Belfast, in an area of large population, but the nearest gig to me is 66 miles away! I'd quite like to see the show, but can't see me driving 130+ miles for the privilege. No Dublin date either. Quite odd.

Hi there. I'm in two minds about this. Being based in Galway, I couldn't easily get to one of his shows this year, but he's playing practically on my doorstep next May.
What's the deal with the VIP packages, though? Regular ticket is €30, and the VIP is €40. I'm not bothered about where I sit (it's a relatively small venue anyway), and the lanyard and photo wouldn't bother me either. But what's in the "merch" bag??? A tenner extra doesn't seem like much if it's something decent.
The extra special VIP ticket is €75. How long do you you get for the M&G? Any reports from those who bought that this time around....was it worth it?
TIA

Thinking about going to Musselburgh, just 20 mins along the road for me. Had a look at the booking site and yes, the merch bag contains lanyard and photo.

Any reports from those who bought that this time around....was it worth it? TIA I think there are 2 types to the offers. The VIP seat which I didn't go for. That doesn't mean you meet Francis. It gives you a seat in the front 5 rows with bag containing the photo and the lanyard. All looked very thin to me. I sat in the 6th row, fine view and happy not to have the merch. The M&G might be worth if you want to a chat and to have yer photo in the Big Red chairs with him. I gather Mick Wall takes your photo with your photo or phone. I've no idea how long you get though as I didn't go for it either. The other option which they won't advertise is that he stays behind afterwards to sign stuff. You don't get a photo but you get the chance to speak to him. I would imagine they'd still do this because they hope to sell the book/record this way. The M&G tickets were not linked to the VIP seats this year. They were offered later to anyone who had a ticket via an email from the venue. They clearly went well if they are offering them up front now.

And the venues are small enough not need the VIP seats. M&G with a photo in the chair is another matter! You might want it for your collection.

Would maybe be nice to meet him one last time, he was our hero, and he recognises many of the mistakes he made. I must put my review of his book up. Nothing new really, but much of it felt very sincere.

Saving it for when I have time to enjoy it.
