I find the whole "Me and Francis were laughing at Rick the other day..." or "Me and Francis were talking about Rick the other day" and then to go on and tell a snide story, a bit much to swallow...
Followed the band all my life and that is the first time I have ever heard Rick insisting on calling himself "Rock" I've heard him mention various nicknames for himself down the years but, never heard him say, "Everyone calls me Rock"
The Bentley story and what have you is probably true. Rick never made a secret of that. Seems very strange....One minute, he's bigging up the guy. The next minute, he's pulling him down...
Anyways, on with the show

First time I've listened to this and I have to agree with Patty, what a load of bollocks.
All the inaccuracies give little credibility to the rest of the interview and yes the snide belittling comments are uncalled for. I think Mick Wall has mis-remembered things he's been told and even his own direct memories have his own self opinionated spin. I know Rick wasn't a saint and he hurt a lot of people over the years, but I do think he had a sense of humour. The 'Rock' thing was him joking and winding up Mick Wall. Maybe the other stories were exaggerated too and Mick just didn't get the joke, e.g. having booze, coke and cigarettes in the hospital toilet so soon after his op....
Thank goodness for the other guy calling him out, basically calling HIM a pain in the arse (well that's how I took it)! He didn't impress me much at the conventions either.
