I get strangely irritated when an innocent worker gets killed. There's a bad one in Skyfall when a bloke manning a desk gets shot in a very callous way.Must be my age when I start wondering about the phone call to his wife. In drama, "spear carriers". I find myself increasingly sensitised to this on TV and in movies. You can almost see who it's going to be, some of the time. Must be old age

Hey curiousgirl , did you carry on with the last series of The Bridge? I loved the first couple of series (in spite of some of the extreme gory violence and emotional sadness for the characters) but the 3rd season less so. So when I saw your post back in May about Season 4, I decided not to bother. Just wondered if the storyline developed in it's usual gripping way and justified the extreme violence shown at the beginning? Was it worth persisting with? I do miss Saga.... I hope she doesn't end up like her equivalent in The Tunnel?

I hope she doesn't end up like her equivalent in The Tunnel? Hi Viv, I did but not immediately. I think I stayed away for a few weeks and then did a catch up on iplayer. It was not as gratuitously violent as episode one, but the mystery wasn't very good. I don't know anyone who thought it was but we all watched because we loved the character so much. Saga's personal story was okay. Without spoiling it, they sorted out her issues. And it was satisfying. It was an open ending but not one where you think they will make another show. I gather they've sold off her amazing Porsche for about £125k. I only saw season one of The Tunnel which ruined the whole show because they misinterpreted her character entirely. And they made all the stories OTT. Yes, Saga has been one of my favourite TV detectives. I loved seasons one and two with her and Martin. I didn't mind the new guy Henrik but I never took to him as I did Martin. And I missed Hans too. John is in Season 4 but in a diminished role. You didn't miss much. I expect they will repeat it again though.

Yes I missed Martin too in S3. Good to hear there is something positive for Saga's personal story! Maybe I'll catch up with S4 sometime....

Season 3 and 4 were outstanding, we bingewatched them in about a week. (I didn't miss Martin.) Saga is one hell of a character, loved her for buying her own desk "which is no part of the flexible office". Great stuff.
