Anyone seen this new Idris Elba and Bill Bailey series? Quite funny in maybe a 'Still Game' London version kind of a way? Set in the 80's, guess what song they had playing in the local disco? RAOTW of course! And then at the end my pet hate, Dexy's Eileen. Hate that song!

I actually hate Quo's Rocking All Over the World (and have since its release) but quite like Dexy's Eileen.
RAOTW is usually accompanied by two blokes doing a dance involving crossing each others shoulders alternatively which film makers seem to consider the Quo lamebrains did. I have NEVER seen this at any Quo concert or event. It is a figment of imagination although I think a few people were persuaded to stage this for the camera in the EOTR video which is a shame!

Unfortunately I have seen an odd few doing the shoulder dance at various concerts . But it is more likely seen at events where RAOTW and the like are played, usually by people who think that's what Quo fans do. As for your taste on the latter song...... Still, it's a good job we're all different!

Difficult choice - both over exposed songs but think I might just favour Eileen as well ...think I just prefer the foot stomping to the shoulder dance ...close though......

Apparently, Bill Clinton was a big fan of Dexy's, although he rearranged the popular ditty as Come On Monica

Remember...he never had sex with that woman. Indeed - that's why it wasn't Come In Monica! Monica Lewinsky at the dry-cleaners ( where the man on the counter is a bit deaf )…. Monica: “Could I get this blue dress dry-cleaned, please?” Man on the counter: “erm….come again?” Monica: “No – this time it’s mayonnaise”

Hi All, I did it at my wedding reception....
As far as the series goes I think it's quite funny and would like to see another series made, trouble is there are rumours that Edris is hoping to resurrect Only Fools And Horses with him playing the lead Delboy. I just don't know why Tv companies keep messing about with classic comedy and trying to reinvent them just to keep the viewing figures up ?
To my mind why not give some younger talent a try rather than ruin classics ? You run the risk of ruining a built up legacy by to become a parody of it's former self (Hmmmm!! sounds familiar... ) Of coarse I could be completely wrong and it may be a big success but the behemoth that was the original can never be equalled or bettered IMHO...
Geoff.
