SQ have put Rick's album as main focus of it's website, with links to listening on spotify and to buying it. Clearly bad feeling there from Rick Jnr towards CQ but I'm not sure what else exactly he'd like or expect them to do Francis could have said a few kind words. But nothing. Unless he said something in the new ftmo mag. ''There is no grief like the grief that does not speak'' (Henry Wadsworth Longfellow). Walk just one mile...

Yeah, it’s the same version. Shame they didn’t remix it Clocking in at 36 mins , can understand why they thought they needed another song. There's a few 'spooky' sound effects added into it, not heard on the original Quo-released version. There are a few "Ooo's" that sound more present than they do on the Quo release also. Halloween is a cracking track, and it's understandable why Rick loved that track. Be great for a special single release or something around Halloween on orange vinyl

Just downloaded and played at full blast. Love Lonesome Road. Definitely my fave and wished it went on for another minute or so even if it would be classified as Quo by numbers in the mid seventies. Although I would have loved an album of Mystery Song/Coming and Going/Take Me Away/Lonely Man style numbers...it was never going to happen. Considering its been put together from a bunch of demos and at a time Rick was not at his finest health wise, i think the end result is remarkable achievement. It is generally a happy, feel good album of very diverse material, coupled with some meaningful and poignant tracks. In particular, Over and Out rates highly for me with its hidden meaning and lovely melody. I also really like When I Was Fallin in Love for its ELO'esque catchy vibe. Normally i wouldn't go for these kind of tunes at all but they just seem to fit in so well with the overall feel and atmosphere of the album. Hence why i can appreciate the diversity on this album. FFEH is a pretty cool 80s style rock/pop song but again, it works here. Sure its not an out and out rocker of an album but it speaks volumes of who Rick was and this, at the end of the day, is what a solo project should all be about. Its not about the image, its about the man himself and this comes over in bucket loads. It also has the best packaging and album cover of any release associated with the Quo name since Want/Supposin era. And BTW, its shits all over Rossi's solo efforts

Francis could have said a few kind words. But nothing. Unless he said something in the new ftmo mag. ''There is no grief like the grief that does not speak'' (Henry Wadsworth Longfellow). Walk just one mile... “Silence becomes cowardice when occasion demands speaking out the whole truth and acting accordingly.” Gandhi His actions and words tells me I understand him.

I have no issue with you being upset with Francis but that quote makes no sense out of context and in relation to grief. Gandhi is talking about protest and speaking out against injustice. People do grief in all kinds of ways. Fwiw: I have no idea what Francis is really feeling. I'm also quietly happy that this album supports his understanding of who Rick was.(that last part is not directed at you pf.)

But I will say with almost certainty that, the lack a supportive quote in the music ‘press’ about Rick’s solo album has nothing to do with his grief. But to me this isn’t about his/their grief. Which I appreciate he is going through. The wider issue is however, the Status Quo machine or the persons behind the Status Quo fab page, could and in my view should have helped promote this album. As we know many quotes from famous people are just made up by their management.

Oh, I agree Paradise on the lack of support from the Quo publicity machine. I'm equally disappointed and disgusted by that. Don't understand why either. Surely it would do them good to be associated with a successful album.
btw - we don't know if Francis pays any attention to the management of the Quo fb pages/twitter etc. He might have given a directive not to promote Rick's album. Or it is equally possible, he said nothing at all and this is management's decision. We just don't know.

But surely Rhino and he must have talked about it.

Many hundreds of albums in my collection. This is the only one that makes me sad as well as happy. I love Rick's voice very much, and this is the only album I'll ever have where he sings all of it. If I was rating each song individually, the scores might not be so high. But the whole experience (little more than half an hour) is unique and very Rick. For these reasons and more, it's special

It peaked at No.4 in the Rock chart on the Irish iTunes Store yesterday. Not appearing on the chart at all there today.
