<puzzled> Tempo and rhythm almost identical, sounds like the same key or a very close one, melody line is different but almost a counterpoint. You could paste bits of each one in and out of the other without disturbing them unduly. Perhaps I just pick up on rhythm and tempo more than melody. Over analysed I think. Two completely different songs. I’ll get my hearing aids checked though just in case. A waste of time tho I think....

I didn't analyse it at all to start with, I was just going with what it sounded like to me. Then wondered why, since it didn't to you. Two sets of ears!
I didn't count the chords either

I think Over and Out is a great album! Favorites are Twinkletoes, Lonesome Road and Over and out. The song over and out may be seen as an insight from Rick that he was about to check out, but I think it's more like he realising that he would never more be able to go on the road again. After the recovery in the fall 2016 I guess that he might have thaught: "What the f**k; is this it? Where have I gone? Why am I here? Will I be back some day? Is this my over and out?

'Over and Out' isn't about Rick....according to Rick, it's about some pilot in trouble. Or something like that. Plot twist. Rick was actually also an RAF pilot and flew in the Gulf wars.

Ah c'mon, just because the song is overtly about a pilot getting lost doesn't mean the subtext can't relate to Rick himself. For me it is obviously about how he was feeling and all the more moving for that reason. Jo Webb said he always signed off by saying "Over and Out" to him, so although a phrase relating back to his flying days, it was also one he had taken to using in his everyday life. Definitely about him IMO. So sad, but at least he had those few extra months to appreciate his loved ones and have the buzz of creating his solo album. Thanks to those Turkish paramedics for that.

The whole Jo Webb thing is startling to me. That was my mom's name.

I’ve listened again with the thought of trying to hear the similarity of the two songs. I just don’t hear it; poles apart to me.

Everbody know how to fly continues to grow on me. It's great that Bob is on there. When was the last time they were both on a song together?

Pilot twist. Rick was actually also an RAF pilot and flew in the Gulf wars. Fixed that... Then again ... Rick did say "I realised if I kept on flying I would kill meself." (Unlike Porches, aircraft don't just roll over in the ditch.) So it COULD be about him - in his bad dreams

How did he manage to find a plane that matches his eyes?
