Another great day at the diamond. As always top bands.
Was great to meet up with the usual quo gang and say hello to people who know my name but I have no idea who they are!
The day was started by an impromptu acoustic set by Mikey and Jimmy performing some quo rarities and other bands. Time to fly always sounds great in this style.
Next was the owner, Gary's band, Steeler performing some rock n roll covers and a few of their own I think. I'm a regular at the diamond and seeing Gary singing rather than introducing bands was strange but he has a great band.
Then The Sensational Ball And Chain Bang Band. Not your usual rock covers band. A lot of rarities performed brilliantly. Even rarer was hearing a bit of ABBA.
Spare Parts next doing a quo set. Great to hear some modern quo mixed with classics. Highlights included Making Waves and all Stand Up.
Jackie Lynton was his usual self, a born entertainer. Still no hedgehog song!
Then spare parts again doing a rock covers set which went down very well.
Finally Stated Quo. Must say it's probably the busiest I've seen the quo day, even got a little pensioners mosh pit/hokey cokey going during roadhouse blues. Brilliant as always with highlights including Runaway, 4500 times and Mystery Song. A great day was had by all and I'm looking forward to number 10 next year.

My first time at The Diamond, what a great club!! Lovely to meet up with all my Quo friends again! And actually got to meet Tramper! Yes it was a brilliant day and all the bands were fantastic, even if they did not all play 100% Quo!! I particularly enjoyed Shy Fly and Need your Love from Spare Parts. Also The Jack from Mikey and Jimmy's spin off band TSBACG Band. They also did an unusual version of WSOL done in a Johnny Cash style. Not sure if it worked but maybe one for Puddles the Clown to cover! Jackie really entertained everyone as usual with his bluesy rock n roll set. Stated Quo were their usual AWESOME selves. I loved the whole set which must have been about 1.45 minutes but it flashed by, everyone in the audience were having so much fun. Obviously I particularly loved 4500x but I always love it when they do Over The Edge! Fabulous! They were all brilliant and it was great to be rockin out will The Quo Army again! Till the next time. ..!
