STATUS QUO Cancellation of Dec 11th Berlin Show FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: It is with great regret that STATUS QUO are forced to announce that tonight’s show at the Friedrichstadtpalast in Berlin has had to be cancelled due to Francis Rossi being taken ill. He appears to have picked up a chest infection which has left him incapacitated and unable to sing. He is currently receiving medical attention in Germany and has left it to the last possible moment to cancel in the hope that he would be able to recover enough to perform, but unfortunately that has not been the case. Status Quo would like to sincerely apologise to the fans planning to attend the show. Ticket holders should wait for a further announcement in due course. The band are primarily known for their touring and live shows, and the cancellation of shows is always a last resort. Status Quo’s manager Simon Porter added, “We hate to have to cancel shows and hope that the fans realise that these situations are outside of our control. There’s absolutely no way that Francis could take to the stage and deliver the kind of performance that the band’s fans expect and deserve”.

Rhino can't sing either but they don't cancel the gigs.

Initially when I saw this on the internet...I thought poor sales, anything for publicity? Funny how you view people on their character and past actions.
It is not beyond Porter or Rossi. They seemed to get a slot in almost every local paper where they were about to play recently to try and push up ticket sales.
The message was 'this is going to be the last chance, buy tickets quick.' Trying to create an artificial demand and shortage.
How many times can you cry wolf?

He must be quite sick as they've cancelled the next 2 nights also, giving him time off until Friday's gig.

The show must go on the crew must be paid bring Nick Rossi bring Freddie Edwards and it will be better than ever and Rhino will tell us is there is a new freshness in the band and the new guys play the songs much more in the original way.

It virtually was from the audience, in that it was a 'fan', a fan who managed to get a meeting with Rick, prior to being in the audience watching the band. Same sort of thing!
