It's true it was the best but it could not have continued Francis and Alan are like Blackmore and Gillan. They cannot be in a band together long before major arguments start again.

From this moment on, Francis was always getting rid of Rick.

From this moment on, Francis was always getting rid of Rick. Definitely. The moment the curtain dropped in Manchester at the first reunion gig, the band he had built up for 30 years were in tatters, and he knew it. I almost think he agreed to the second one with the hope of it falling apart in front of our very eyes. What actually happened was the irreplaceable magic of the proper Status Quo, and from that there was no coming back. Rick knew that and Francis had nowhere to turn. This was the start of their relationship faltering. Unfortunately, I imagine we will never fully hear Rick’s versions but would have been interesting to hear.

It's wonderful to see Rick's eyes light up like that but at the end of the clips you can begin to see one reason (if not all the reasons) why maybe Francis didn't want this to go on.

Loafer Man never thinks about what he says otherwise, so I wonder why he didn't address the problem when it came.... I think he didn't want the thing to work.... That is my opinion...

Why were they in tatters, I saw them after the first FF gigs and it was a packed house and a great gig. I don't think for one minute Rossi agreed to the second one with the hope of it falling apart, that's just silly. The FF gigs were always going to go down a storm, we knew it and so did Rossi. We also have to remember that Rick was still very much with the band until his heart attack and if he was still with us, he would still be there rocking away with the CQ albeit not getting on outside of the band.

Got to disagree PF, if there was no heart attack and Parfitt had stayed fit I believe the Status Quo would have been maintained.

I think he would have walked away after the electrics and left Rossi to it. It’s what he said. When he said it was just plain silly not to do a 50 anniversary electric tour. But we will never know. Rick always said one thing and then followed the money.

That foreward speaks volumes... I genuinely hate saying this but, I saw footage of Rick after the FF.. Imo. He did not wanna be there. He wasn't having it so to speak

No way Rossi knew. Just look at his reaction after that first song.
