I took The article out of The newspaper at The library. ( Indeed, I stole it). I translate a few things: ' I stopped ( using alcohol and coke) 30 years ago. Step by step. ... Hapilly enough, otherwise I wouldn't be here anymore.' ' Rick kept on drinking and smoking heavily. I talked to him about that a lot, but he wasn't able to change his lifestyle, despite his Health problems' ' Rick's death blew New Life into this band. There are New People With me on stage, with whom it klicks extremely well. Something is happening again, there is magic in The air. ... Even a new album I don't exclude.' ' I said we wouldn't performance Electric anymore? Well, I was convinced about that, then. But nog anymore. People change their opinion sometimes. And don't forget: a lot of people Make a Living out of Status Quo. I veel responsible for my musicians and my personnel. For them, I want to continue.' ' you can't do voor for everyone. Something fans blame me that I don't pay Tribute to Rick during The show. But that's Who I am. I am a Cool frog. Always Have been. ... I haven't shed a tear on Ricks death, but that doesn't mean I don't Miss him. And I Think this is what Rick wanted: Status Quo Lives on, even achter his death.'
I Hope you understand my 'english'. I did my best.

I did my best. Thank you so much for doing this. Its how we know him these days and what he's been saying for a while. I love the line, "I am a cool frog". Your English was great by the way. I think the phrase we would use is "cold fish" but I prefer cool frog. Cheers!

Very good that he feel responsible for my musicians and my personnel - this says all.
When It was a real band with Alan and John and Rick he didn´t feel reponsible and kicked them out of the band.................. really a cool frog.

I don't have a problem with them carrying on if they still have an crowd who will follow and the band still enjoy the gig...even better if under another name.
It simply holds no charm without Rick.
Do not understand all this kicked new life into the band stuff....just say we want to carry because we enjoy it still..simples.
The real MAGIC at a gig was getting to Rick's side of the gig as close as you could get and waiting for him to open up with Caroline with the hairs on the back of your neck standing up a little.. and his rocking approach to the gig thereafter.
Peace and love to all

I can't speak for colloquial Dutch, but "leven" seems to be the standard Dutch word for life, and the long word appears to mean "blown", so there's no mention of magic in that headline. Which paper is it? There might be a text online that we can turn Google Translate loose on. Ah got it now - thanks so much mikebelgium32, sometimes you just have to steal a newspaper "Something is happening again, there is magic in The air." is not QUITE the same as saying that Rick's death brought new magic ... but if he actually said Rick's death brought new life, apart from being quite good "circle of life" stuff, that still strikes me as a pretty chilly thing to say. OK people may have pointed out to him that he's a cold fish/cool frog, and he may agree, but that doesn't mean he needs to work for a Masters in it. If he wasn't quoted, I would say that headline was journalist stuff, but he's quoted. He could just have said that the new guys had brought new life it. This is another one of those "not your finest moments" that Francis seems to be building up a collection of these days.

Not quite sure why it is so hilarious: both fish and frogs are cold blooded, and are not great at showing emotions. The Dutch expression "kouwe kikker" has the extra advantage of alliteration, like a "cool customer" has.
Anyway, the title containing Rick's death as opposed to the band's new life was highly inappropriate and really pisses me off.
Francis can't mention Rick's name at a gig of his parody band, but seems all too willing to belittle his former bandmate's contributions. Feck off, sad old clown.

I feel very sorry for him as much as I don't like his disturbing lack of obvious outward remorse.
He's sad and hurting and doesn't know how to show it.
I wish it would stop.

The only thing hurting him will be the fact that the ventures after the reunions haven't exactly gone to plan and fans are abandoning the farce. But the farce will continue no doubt.
