That's what it translates to when I use Google. Dutch fans on FB are saying it says "Rick's death has brought new magic to the band" Thoughts?

The band's been dead to me for over 30 years, Rick or no Rick - apart from the Reunions, of course.

Yep FW, translation is correct ... And I don't agree with it for a single second.

I will never understand how people can think that the band has been revived after Rick's passing... they have a right to their opinion of course, but for me the band ceased existing the moment Rick passed away and it was already a pretty watered down version after 81. Rick was the motor of the band, end of.

There's a BIG difference between saying a new member has "given us all a kick up the backside" and "Rick's death has brought new magic to the band".
The first sounds like something FR would say. The other sounds like a journo wrote it
If Francis is actually quoted in the article saying that about Rick's death, then I agree that would be really bad....but I do doubt it. And to be fair, when asked about the new member (I don't know his name & I'm not interested in it) he does have to say something!

I am Dutch and could read the article to find out whether Francis said it or a journo. Problem is that the picture above is pretty unclear, only the big letters are clearly visible.

I put on reading glasses with a bigger strength and managed to find out... and sadly enough it looks like Rossi indeed made the above mentioned remark

It probably has brought new magic to the band. But that band isn't Status Quo. It's some horrible mangling of it.
Truth to tell, I don't mind Malone much. Rick certainly approved of him. I wouldn't mind seeing him join the real Quo, with JC and AL. He probably replicates Rick's style better than anybody else. But unless Rossi wanted in on the deal the rest are just hired hands.

He doesn't look too happy about it though from that pic.

Cheers Victor. It’s very sad he has said that, and also a long way from clever
