Just got the tickets for Jethro Tull next April.
Now there is a band with not many original members left!
I will go and see Ian Anderson when I can as he is such an incredible player, and best still on Tull songs.

I'd be interested if he was playing somewhere it tad more local to me, but I can't be arsed driving too far for most artists.

The tour of Aus and NZ was a marketing spin along the lines of “Ian Anderson plays Jethro Tull" – Ian + hired hands
Many Tull fans feeling that without Martin it's lost any real sense of being Jethro Tull ( sounds familiar? )
– nostalgia was served by Ian and his band, but reviews were very mixed – from all accounts great flute but many very critical of Ian’s vocal range/delivery and the sound mixes.
Let’s hope the UK tour is much better

Ian's voice is pretty well shot, which is strange, as he was never a vocal-straining screamer. When he did Thick as a Brick a few years back, he had a younger guy there to sing most of the vocals, and it worked very well. I suppose if he is "being tull" on this tour, that would be a bit more difficult. I'm basically going for the flute.

If you like a bit of flute then you may be interested in Camel's gigs next year where they'll be performing the whole of Moonmadness.

Strangely enough I happened to tour with Ian as part of Mandoki Soulmates earlier this year and vocally he seemed on really good form, his flute playing was simply stunning. I hope you have a really good time, he's an amazingly original and talented artist and one of the nicest guys you could ever meet too.
