He sounds perfectly fine... My ears just can't quite escape the fact I can only hear one guitar though... You can blame Francis for that, as soon as Rick stopped live work he had the live mix altered, Freddie Edwards was even lower in the live mix. The volume level given to Rick's rhythm guitar in concerts had become an increasingly large bone of contention between Francis and Rick in latter years. Richie has his own style and people would only lambast him if he tried to be a clone copy stylewise of Rick but unless Francis actually has a road to Damascus moment and realises properly what a talent he has in Richie and just how much he could change things for the better, I doubt we'll ever get back to the crunching rhythm levels we had with Rick.

We'll never get back to that. Richie has his own style and that's fine. I've played guitar for 16 years now and my lead work was always influenced by anyone and everyone, but my rhythm was influenced by one man only. As I said before, I have no bone of contention with him joining the band. Only an idiot wouldn't. It's a once in a lifetime opportunity, grab it with both hands.. My only issues with Richie Malone was his statement when Rick died and that Oz TV interview. Nothing to do with his playing or his ability whatsoever. I also have no idea what his writing skills are like so, all power to him if they make an album. I just hope to God the name is dropped by then

I bought the Nec remaster today and read the sleeve while in work. Alan's words about the fans... It's night and day the difference between him and Francis.. . Anyways, you're right.

Plenty of Quo fans aboard the cruise so should be a couple of good gigs on the boat too, looking forward to hearing about those and then of course we have the final show of the Aussie tour to enjoy next week in Melbourne. Hey Lee, when I cruised out of Sydney last year I was told what happens on this cruise stays on the cruise... ;-)

I watched the ship go from the comfort of my couch. I wish I could say it's because I live on Sydney Harbour but it's because the 6pm Sydney news backdrop is a live shot of Circular Quay and if there's a ship leaving while the news is on you can see it go. I waved And here was I thinking you'd won lotto and gone all all posh on us sitting on your back porch in Kirribilli. It'd be awesome though wouldn't it.
