My current fav show but I've only got one (of 5) seasons left. And I don't even like football or US football. Its not cynical, I think that's why. And not afraid of being emotional. Plus great characters and storytelling.

Hi All, CG, Yes it is an excellent series watched the lot a couple of years ago, was quite miffed that they pulled it because it covered varying subjects amongst the struggles of the Campus football teams...

Geoff. I've one more season to go and whilst I'll be sad it will be over, I don't think I want it to go on and on. I'll just watch it all again. btw - I was out on the train today and spotted some NFL fans and I now understand what those jerseys mean.

Hi All, curiousgirl Never been into watching the game just like the jerseys they wear It's the same for us footy fans over here wearing our various tops. What's your take on the kneeling during the anthem before the game ? My thoughts are politics should be kept out of sport across the board the fans who attend these events have spent their hard earned to watch them give all at whatever sport.
Fans just want to forget about the outside world for a couple or few hours the same with any leisure activity leave it alone until afterwards...

Tough one the sport and politics issue.I reckon that South Africa missing the World Cup and the touring sides like the British Lions and the All Blacks was the most painful sanction off all and was a big contributor to the release of Nelson Mandela. In his book,Long Walk to Freedom,Mandela says his learning of Afrikanns and his studying of rugby union gave him a dialogue with the guards at Robben Island. The guards were stunned that someone like Mandela would take the time to learn about "their" game and asked him what the ANC was about.Mandela reassured them that he was no threat to their way of life and was the same as them.Within 3 months Nelson Mandela went from 'Kaffir' to Mr Mandela because of his knowledge of rugby union. When Mandela told one of the total bastards at the prison the idea of one nation the guard listened and said "Mr Mandela, you may have something there".

Hi All, Railroad17 Not really matey it's simple like I already said when I ever attended any sport venue or gig in the past I like most I assume just went to be entertained. I went to forget about all the crap of the real world for a bit then get back to reality and all it entails afterwards politics is a separate issue for me.
If a sports Personality/Team or Entertainer/Group whatever ? has a view's and airs thier view that's all well and good but there are times an places. At venues where people pay hard earned to forget the outside world for a while, all they should see is entertainment for their enjoyment not a bunch of overpaid whatever's disrespecting whatever at said venue.
They can all take a knee after the game or well before it in their own time, because while they do it on the NFL payroll many would then assume the NFL and it's sponsors are behind the protest, not only that everyone associated is then either forced pick sides or are put in embarrassing positions etc.etc.
Geoff.
