Sadly @catlady I think you are absolutely correct. Francis said in an interview somewhere that there are the hard core fans (staunch old FF fans?) and then there are the OTHER hard core fans (staunch CQ /all era's fans?) But the majority of their 'customers' are probably in between. Management will not care about a few MB complainers. However I think they may have underestimated the fall out of their marketing gaffe of changing the tour back to electric. A lot of their customers are upset that they shelled out extra to be at the LAST electric tour. If tickets were not selling well for Aquostic I think they should have just cancelled it. They said they were winding down after LNOTE and would only be doing a few specials electrically but obviously now Rick's gone they think they can carry on. As I posted on the other board, the only way I think they could have got away with it, would have been say they were continuing the LNOTE tour (owing to fans demand blah blah blah) but to change the name to Plugged In - Live and Rockin' is so crass and insulting on so many levels. It may put off a lot of their loyal customers but then again there might just enough left.... Time will tell.

I reckon more like "Whatever FR Wants" tour, and I honestly genuinely don't like thinking like that, but by the majority of posts/threads I've managed to read on 'ere I ain't on me own, sad sad end...

Hi viv Yes, they have undoubtably underestimated the effects of changing the tour back to electric. Their obsession with business operations>money profit>wallet based on any common lower denominator blindsides them to the effects their decisions have on 'customers'. Not just past 'fans', who they no longer care about but even risking alienating the customers they now turn to so as to support their profit margin
How can a once down to earth rock band that earned its devout, back tingling understanding with its fanbase through playing uninhibited raw powered rock boogie, turn into a modern day superficial capitalistic out of touch 'show biz' cartel?

The band/management don't take us for fools because they aren't interested in what we think one way or the other. We served our purpose supporting the band to its success - but that's irrelevant now to them. As long as there remains paying customers for the product then nothing else matters as far as they are concerned. Its about wallets and money, nothing to do with being a creative band. Absolutely spot on, nobody puts the "business" in music business like Simon Porter. I really do fear for a tribute concert though, time is ticking away and venues get booked up months ahead, especially as Christmas approaches.

It seems incongruous that those scruffy, musically ambiitious young men should have grown so old (and one in particular, grown up) It is just a job now isn't it. But even if it is just viewed a job you'd think they would try their best to keep fans onside. But it seems that recently every promotional stunt and tag line of tour names has caused some sort of offence and alienated some of the fans. Accept No Substitute could be seen as a direct slur towards FF . And now this Live and Rockin' could be seen as a kick in the teeth towards Rick. I mean who thinks up these lines? Do they do it unintentionally or do they do it on purpose .... ?

I hate to say this but, I saw this posted elsewhere and at the time, I actually had thought, "Oh God, they're right" when I read it...
What if it wasn't financially viable for them to do a tribute gig? I hate saying it but, what if they couldn't make a profit from it commercially?
I know...That shouldn't even come into it but, it's how they think these days

I would rather there isn't one now to be honest. Too much time has passed and too many negative comments have come out of Rossi's mouth. The Woking in the Park tribute was just right and done very tastefully. If Rossi and Porter manage it, it will end up being a commercial enterprise and they certainly wouldn't be doing it from their heart so F em.
