Had a fantastic evening/night yesterday at the Crossed Guitars Festival in Frieschepalen, The Netherlands. The evening started with a concert of Rhino's Revenge. It was a good show. But to be honest it was Status Quotes were I came for. And it was fantastic. Never seen a Quo coverband like them. Much much better than the current Quo. This was the setlist:
Junior's wailing.
Side A of the Blue For You album: Is There A Better Way Mad About The Boy Ring Of A Change Blue For You Rain
Rollin' Home (1986) with Rhino on bass
Side B of the Blue For You Album: Rolling Home That's A Fact Ease For Mind Mystery Song
Slow Train Someone's Learning Umleitung Backwater Just Take Me Your Smiling Face Dirty Water Roll Over Lay Down Nightride Little Lady Most Of The Time Hold You Back
Drifting Away Don't Waste My Time

Actually I have to thank you for this fantastic evening. It was you who brought Status Quotes to my attention a few months ago somewhere here on this messageboard.

this is also pretty good. Right after the break they started with these two songs. Still can't understand why the FF never played Slow Train live. Where you at the Crossed Guitars Festival rothersquo?

What a fantastic band...blasts Rossis Quo completely out of the water! Rossi in comparison looks like a lame duck in an amateur band at a school concert. Is he not embarrassed at where the 'little show off' has ended up?
Status Quotes are just glorious.
Blue For You!!!!
All The Reasons!!!!!!
Ease Your Mind
Your Smiling Face
Is It Really Me?/Gotta Go Home
DWMT
Don't get much much better than this for a cover band...almost perfect!

The start of 4500 times used to give me goosebumps, in particular Rossi's lead part, and make the hair stand on my head. It used to do this without exception and was a lovely feeling. Rossi's Quo has not done this for many a decade.
THIS HAS!!!!

No need for any drink or drugs...if live at this would you not want to jump on the stage?
Absolutely amazing performance of 4500 times!!!
What a band!
Rossi's band is a shameful shadow in comparison to this energetic, electric, enthusiastic performance played with feel and vibe and a fantastic tone and sound.
I am generally not in favour of covers bands but in the context of the mess of Rossi's band this satisfies my Quo need whilst Rossi's nostalgic rip off cabaret act played like a machine does not even slightly interest me or give me any positive vibe or feel.
