I think the programme on Monday surely supercedes any negativity over the post Rick establishment.
The Gillie and John tribute show to Rick is one of the most uplifting moments since that fateful day last Christmas and, though clearly still very emotional, one John will have found therapeutic and much easier to get through than the brave gig he did so soon after it happened
I'm sure it did most all of the old Quo establishment who participated in the show a lot of good, as well of course those of us who listened to it

Just listened to it - really great tribute show by John and Gillie, very well put together. Nice stories and memories there, especially from RPJ. The end was very hard to listen to...

I have sent texts to both John & Gillie telling them about all the positive reviews (on here and twitter) and they're extremely pleased you all enjoyed the show.

I was out all day Monday with family when it broadcast so I've only just listened to it. A lovely fitting tribute, and great contributions from those that knew Rick the man. I can just imagine him being sent down in a lift starkers! .😂
The end was very emotional and hard to listen to...a very honest, heartfelt tribute from RPJ and obviously still very raw for John 😔

A big thank you to Quoincidence for uploading and posting the interview. Understandable some people couldn't listen at the time so, a big thank you to him. A top bloke and top poster. Also, from a personal perspective, thank you Quoincidence for what you posted, over on enemy territory About time she was called out on her biased, deluded bullshit!

No worries And I saw someone mention it here (Might have been deepthroat), so I went over and had a look Couldn't help myself... Beyond sick of the bullshit half (if not all) of them post. Had another look just now... "Don't think Gillie having the dig at Francis was necessary" Rossi's the good guy, everyone else from the original Quo are absolute villains. Cheers

Brilliant show, unlikely to see or hear a better tribute. And fair play to Simon Porter - whose "eye's lit up" at prospect of FF reunion. He takes a lot of shit, perhaps some of it not really deserved? Agree this can be read in more than one way. The other view is that he knew it could happen because they were finally all speaking. Having said that, my first thought was "kerching." Maybe I've been influenced by members here.. Kerching is Simon's job, after all. And the reunion happened!

I'm speechless now I understand what is going on. Amazing how we all hear different things. Never heard anything bad about Francis. Simply that he didn't want to party. Hardly an insult.
I think it was such a great tribute, I shall probably listen again.

I think it was such a great tribute, I shall probably listen again. Exactly this... Rick, John and Alan had many years of missed partying to catch up on Edit: Still don't get why they cut the intro to Accident Prone? and I've only recently realised that the intro (Ricks chugging) sounds like a clock ticking

I reckon PLC would've been epic I was there!! It was brilliant. I'd forgotten how close to Live Aid it was... Usually at that time if something like this happened in London, I got there. I'm pretty sure I wasn't at this one (that's proof isn't it ) so I didn't hear about it. There was one with Nuff and Rick AFTER the "breakup". I can't remember who else was playing. If I made any notes, they are deep buried now. That is when Francis said, "Reunion, what reunion?" Bob was there. There was something else planned with Bob maybe a bit later - but I rolled up at the Marquee and it had been cancelled! Silly me for not ringing ahead. I went and bought some lychees instead.

Rick, John and Alan had many years of missed partying to catch up on And you know what I found so special about that tribute was the informality of it. Usually a celeb is presented in their public way in tribute and its great but its still a performance. What Rockers Rollin' offered was the experience of us almost eavesdropping on friends chatting about their mate and what they loved about him.

"He was as equally wonderful as he was frustrating". RJP. A tribute from the one who probably knew him as well as anyone in the world.
And I am impressed that Rick could cook Shepherds Pie! That got my attention!
Isn't that funny. I wouldn't have put Rick down for competitive ... but what RJP says about Rick's dad rings true ...

To the two posters whose posts I've deleted.
While I tend to agree with you, this thread is about the tribute interview. Any more off topic stuff I'll just delete too.

I'm very glad that the interview wasn't 'sanitised' and all that awful misinformation of names of songs/names of credits was sooo sloppily left on the airwaves to offend our strict needs for flawless details instead
Eureka! Yay! letsrock They are human beings and make mistakes and, given, their affection for their departed friend, might even overlook the most obvious things they themselves were centrally involved in. Who'd have thunk it!..
