Status quo were a top rock band from the early 70s on.
Time moved on,the members of the band changed,musical tastes changed ,management changed,expectation changed,money changed.
They are 40 years past their best years,as are we all.
They are making the most of it.

It occurs to me that Rick Parfitt IS Status Quo, at least as much as Rossi by himself is. The others are simply hired hands. I'm thinking it's Rossi who is ex-Quo. When they first put Caroline together, it was more of a slow blues shuffle, but it was Rick who came up with the rock 'n' roll riff. A lot of what followed as the traditional Quo rocking riffs was because of that seminal moment - and that was down to Rick.
The great charm of Quo were the melodic songs that Francis wrote, quite often with Bob Young, underpinned by that rock solid heads down boogie rhythm section provided by Rick, Alan, and John.
That was the magic chemistry that Rick talks about in the Frantic Four documentary on the Dublin DVD.
