The full interview is in the new CR (best of 2016 edition)
He admits being heart broken about not being part of the final electric shows (I don't think he knew at the time of the interview that there would be more electric shows in 2017 and probably beyond....). As part of this, he says he can't look at "the Quo site or the message boards"
We can take this to mean that Rick looks in here sometimes, which is cool.
He also admits he's basically had enough of being in CQ. He's "very pleased" with new material he's written, wants to write a book, plans to record an album and "maybe some shows midway through next year"
I'm fairly sure at least 3 of the FF look in here sometimes. I've seen a few fans comment recently that there's no longer any reason to be here. I can't agree with that - if Rick and/or the others are going to do something, they are going to at least need the confidence that there's still a fanbase - and of that, I'm sure there still is and always will be.

This place would go off in a big way if you'd did.

Hey, thanks MrWaistcoat for sharing that. Is it in the shops now? I'll look out for it. That's good news that Rick is anticipating possible live shows. As long as he is going to be fit enough and it is not just wishful thinking. We obviously want him to be ok and enjoy life doing what he wants, but in a safe way. I agree that the band do look on the MB's sometimes (or at least someone close to them do and pass things on). I know there have been occasions where comments/ideas have been posted and subsequently band interviews will have one of them saying something applicable to that post.

So he anticipates hopefully being gig-fit again mid-2017.
That kinda confirms to me that the 'played his last gigs with Quo' type comments from the Quo camp are really nothing to do with his health.
Perhaps he's already told them to stuff it! It's probably all very un-diplomatic behind the scenes!!

Cheers. statusquo.boards.net/thread/6653/ricks-classic-rock-interviewAs he is still an owner in part of Status Quo as far as I am aware he will possibly be kept up to date with plans as harsh as that sounds. Or maybe not.
