I went through an intense period where all I listened to was Quo. So all my musical knowledge and opinions were based on Quo! (How embarrassing!)
So I formed the opinion that playing bass was easy. I thought that you just had to know the root note of the rhythm chords and that was your bass line.
For example, I love the bass line to Over the Edge but it is really basic.
So anyway I assumed bass was easy.
Then I discovered some isolated bass tracks to Led Zeppelin songs. One stood out, it was What is and what should never be.
The bass line was so 'different' to the rhythm chords.
I think there are inversions in there as well.
Still love Nuff though😃

Someone posted a video of a guy playing bass along to MS earlier this year, and it was amazing. Will try and find. It was absolutely spot on.
