Shows promise. Pretty good. I thought so to. A bit confusing like. So, the 'hosts' are developing memories that aren't deleted, even memories of previous roles/characters they served as. Nice twist that the cowboy in black is human and not a robot in this version. I like as well how they've made it different, in that in the film, it was a brand new theme park, whereas here it's 30 years old and they keep trying to make the hosts more human-like to keep the punters coming. Wonder what the pattern on the scalped skull was. Yep, I enjoyed it.

Wonder what the pattern on the scalped skull was. Yep, I enjoyed it. Hi All, 4th, I thought the Ed Harris character was a robot as he gets shot by the other robot but no blood, yet when he eventually shoots the newcomer robot it bleeds (The scene at the farm house). Later at the end he then scalps the piano player and inside the scalp there is what looks like a maze/map, so is he a robot who has become self aware and on a mission to find out where he comes from ? you know just like the ranch owner who finds the picture and then goes a bit batty when he cant work out what it is and is questioned by Anthony Hopkins character ? The thing that stood out most to me was all the green in the locations I always thought it was pretty barren/arid and lifeless in that part of the world. The scenes seemed to show a very fertile locations or was that is how those in the lab view them ? i.e. when they pull back to show the controlling location in a lab ? Either way I thought it was a good start and I hope it gets better and lives up to the hype that has been created around this new series, allegedly those who make it are hoping it will fill the void left by the ending of Game Of Thrones.
Personally I would love to see HBO take on a good sci-fi as a suggestion one that is ripe for either a tv series or a film trilogy would the Harry Turtledove World war books (8 in total) staring off in WW2 finishing in the modern world of today better than a lot of what has money splashed on it and only had either a single season on Tv or one film then put to bed...

I can't quite remember the film, though I'm a fan of Yul Brunner. This review of ep 2 by my fav tv critic popped up in my news feed today. It sounds quite topical with the advent of Occulus Rift and sex robots... these paragraphs from the review stuck out for me. "For that matter, the show hasn't done a great job of articulating the appeal of what appears to be an incredibly expensive place to visit. Yes, you can have your way with the hosts in terms of sex and violence, and at one point we see one idiot tourist shoot Teddy and other people at the brothel in the head, just because he can, cheering, "Now that's a fucking vacation!" Maybe there are enough people who harbor power fantasies to this degree — and have the means to come here — or maybe Nolan and Joy are trying to argue that humanity is so fundamentally awful that we all fantasize about being able to kill or bed whomever we want without consequence, but so far, the place feels like it would appeal to a very select clientele, and not enough to keep it going for all the decades that the Man in Black has been coming by to smugly slaughter and rape whatever's in his path. When Sizmore proposes a new storyline involving Native Americans and tons of blood and guts, Ford shuts him down and argues that their guests come for a deeper experience than that, and that the park offers them "a glimpse of who they could be." For the most part, who everyone could be when they visit here is a sociopath. That William chooses the white hat, seems uninterested in sex with Clementine and horrified by Logan stabbing the prospector in the hand to shut him up, suggests that not every guest feels that way. Which is another useful service he may provide before the end: explaining why the outside world (whatever it really looks like) would be so interested in becoming part of the never-ending nightmare for Maeve, Dolores, and the other hosts." www.hitfix.com/whats-alan-watching/review-westworld-welcomes-new-guests-and-revisits-old-traumas-in-chestnut

Hey thanks Geoff. I would if I had Sky... but Murdoch don't get my pennies. Appreciate the thought though.

Hi All, 4th, Watched the 2nd Ep and cannot make up my mind about Ed Harris's character, I was leaning to human when he despatched those others outside the saloon then he said "That's why I like here so much, been coming here for 30 years hell you could say I was born here" so I still edge on the side of an early model robot becoming sentient.....

Geoff. Could be a twist later on Geoff! At the moment he's alluded to as a guest who has been coming for 30 odd years and can 'do whatever he wants', but you're right, especially given what's happening with the other hosts.
