What sort of reception did Wilko get from the CQ crowd? I wonder if he noticed a difference from his last outing with Quo. I have never seen a reaction to, or an auditorium so full for, a support act like at Hammersmith last year. Let's just say the couple next to me were texting on their phones during Wilko and barely looked up.....probably texting each other. When I saw him at Wolves on the last reunion tour....he and his band got a standing ovation.....and deservedly so. To be honest though the people either side of me at the front spent the entire gig filming Quo on their phones and doing selfies with the band on stage behind them. Funny that I thought phones were for making phone calls.....just watch the gig guys FFS!!!

Just back from the NIA and I'd forgotten that I had a ticket second row, centre stage. in fact the first 3 rows were allowed on the barrier so I was right at the front Rick's side. I enjoyed it for what it is, they were on form and sounded good. But I'm not sure I want to see this again unless they really shake things up or the FF tour again. Rick is who keeps me going, he's just a machine I love him.....but feck me he looks his age with the weight loss....far too gaunt in the face. The highlight for me was Gerdundula.....I really enjoyed that.....also Leon seemed to fit in better this year I thought. I agree with a comment 4th chord made recently that he would be happy to see CQ again if they had a real overhaul of the set list. With the back catalogue they have they really could and should alter the set much more. I now fully understand why many on here who have been seeing them live for many many more years than I have moan so much about the set......I get it. Shame it could be so much better. I didn't see you, I was looking out for you. I enjoyed it better than I expected. I have never liked 'Creepin' but tonight it sounded different and much tighter and heavier. When Quo came on most of the ground floor were on their feet before they even started playing and stayed on their feet throughout. It was a very enthusiastic audience, more so than last year, and the band seemed to respond. Looking around from my vantage point I could see that it was a "Quo" crowd by the numbers wearing various Quo t-shirts and patches-adorned jackets. Having Wilko on before them set the pace and, although I would have enjoyed some changes in the set, what they gave us was worth the money in my opinion. There are many generations of Quo fans and they made two young lads near me very happy by both Francis and Rhino managing to acknowledge them as they came to our side of the stage. I haven't seen anyone mention the lighting on this tour but there was one clever effect when they left the stage before the encore. On the back of the stage the letters QUO were picked out in lights followed by O O O O in sequence, the Quo chant in lights. I will be going again next year if both they and myself are still around. I'm sure you both will be granny! Nice post
