Love this one. First Quo album I bought as an 11 year old when it first came out. Heard WYP (first time I had heard Quo) on the radio and bought the album the same day. Been hooked ever since.
An album that does not have any stand out brilliant tracks but not a bad one on it either, flows really well.
1) The Wild Ones 2) Over The Edge 3) Coming and Going 4) Name of the Game

Coming and going and Over the edge , the only 2 that still held a glimmer of the old QUO , the rest just get skipped , when I listed to any QUO I want it to sound like the QUO I grew up with . 2 tracks the rest are rubbish .

Actually a bit hard to find four great ones here... My first three choices felt easy and obvious, but then I had to think a while... Over the Edge The Wild Ones Don't Drive My Car Name of the Game

Love Coming & Going.
Of the post classic / pre shite era, this was the album where I thought they got it right - edging it over Whatever You Want simply because they weren't trying to take a step back & coming up a little short on this one, they embraced the changes & made them work. Perhaps the penultimate of maybe half a dozen albums of which you could say "they'd never sound this good again" a sure sign that the best was some way in the past.

I try to judge Quo albums by it's worst song and Name of the Game is horrible. It's downhill fast from here sad to say.

1 to 3 are easy... C&G is broodingly superb - some real emotion in there. Parfitt was quite good at that I reckon. OTE - who would have thought Quo could combine a ROLD-style pounding with a modern rock sound? Probably Al's finest vocal moment - I have never understood how he followed this with the stuff on 1982 and B2B. TWO - sublime guitar riffery - and just as on WYW, Frame's vocals are the best they've been since OTL. When Frame sings like that, to me it is the Quo vocal sound. Why the hell did he tihnk he should go for singing lessons? His 90's deeper fuller voice threw the baby right out with the bathwater. A real struggle to choose the 4th, because there are a large number of contenders. In the end I've gone for DDMC because of the fine guitar tone, and that dramatic solo. This song shows Quo could have been modernised without going poppy. GHB..It's crap.Put Piledriver on and it'll be ok.

GHB..It's crap.Put Piledriver on and it'll be ok. I've never really rated Piledriver in comparison with the times. Out of MKGS through to OTL, it is the least good album IMO. That said, it is still good. But JS and WYW are both better than Piledriver to me. Crikey! To my mind Piledriver is the best thing they've ever done & yet, from what you posted above, I presume it just about makes your top ten Quo albums. So much for them all sounding the same, eh?

So much for them all sounding the same, eh? we're all different Dennis. I love RHB, DWMT, PP, ATR etc but it faced stiff competition from the rest of that era. For me, of the post psych LPs, the order is Quo, Hello, MKGS, WYW, JS, DO2H, IYCSTH, OTL, Piledriver, BFY, RAOTW, NTL, 1982, BTB... Etc. BOLLOCKS....sorry GHB something wrong with my keyboard.I wanted to type 'Live' and it did that.

It always amazes me the range of different opinions on here regarding Quo's output - & I only really take much interest in the'70-'81 material.

I've recently turned into some sort of Piledriver to BFY fundamentalist..fcuking strange.Do I need to buy RAOTW remix?Have I forgotten how good Breaking Away,The Wild Ones and Riverside are?
