I always hated Wembley as a venue and its...er...'limitations'...were well known. But I miss going there to see Quo because there was always a real excitement there. It was also great to go to The Greyhound first for some top-notch bands and a great atmosphere with many MB members in attendance.
Anyone else miss those gigs?

I loved going to Wembley for Quo gigs and I miss them.
02 feels a bit hollow.
Plus I guess I'm slightly biased as I went to my very first gig at Wembley, Quo on the Under The Influence Tour.

Mine too, although it was on the '91 hits tour. I saw Iron Maiden there the following night and they blew Quo away!

Like the above poster, I have only seen them once at Wembley Arena. Also 1981. Not a great place,it lacks atmosphere for a band like Quo. Stick to places like the Hammy if another Frantic Four tour happens. I did have tickets for a Quo gig about 10 years ago there, but it was cancelled due to Parfitt having health issues.

Anyone else miss those gigs? Only time I've ever been there was when you and I met. Was still good down the front but can see how it'd be lacking further back.

I only remember the Hammy gigs from the early days. Probably the drugs that have faded memories of all the other gigs elsewhere after this time

Going to Wembley was definitely a tradition, saw some excellent shows there.

I also miss the Wembley gigs, I'm not that keen on the 02. I remember some fantastic times from the 70's, 80's and early 90's and then from 2004 until they moved to the o2. Obviously I preferred Hammersmith but the Arena was still special and from where I was (usually somewhere in the front section) the atmosphere was always great. I'm sorry to have missed the pre-gigs at The Greyhound. It would have been fun to make a day of it and meet up with some of the Quo Army. The first Tribute band I ever saw was Stated Quo at The Distillers. I never got it before. I always thought that it may be ok for someone like the Bootleg Beatles as The Beatles were no more, but for a band still in existence, I didn't see the point in going to see someone 'copying' them. I now realise I was mistaken.....

Always thought Wembley was a great venue for Quo, and any band I seen there. I'd definitely agree with that. Seen loads of bands there over the years, can't say i've ever had a problem. Slash, Deep Purple, Judas Priest, Motorhead, Alice Cooper, Quo, Stereophonics, ZZ Top, Fleetwood Mac etc

It felt quite cold and miserable in the arena that night, but it might've been because I was driving and sober...!
The all day events in The Greyhound and then onto the Arena for Quo, before returning to The Greyhound and getting the DJ to play non-stop Quo and then finishing in the hotel bar with a load of other Quo fans (and normally gate crashing an office Christmas party that was going on) were great times!

Anyone else miss those gigs? I was in attendance for ONE greyhound/Wembley arena weekend NC..... it was the BEST weekend I could have wished for. the Friday night and sat aft in the pub.... with the quo at sat night. my FIRST meet up with folks from the mb..... it, tbh, shaped my future leisure times since..... because I now go to many trib bashes regardless of whether quo are there.
I did try the year after...but the greyhound was shut. so we went to the speakeasy instead.... however quo were at the o2 that year.... I never bothered with them.
