No....it was the old Irish folk song " Darby Kelly". Yeah I know they knicked that tune for BB but I'm thinking a bit deeper.

Is that that bloke who used to beat the stuffing out of his violin with ELO?? I've just checked wiki and blow me, you're correct! "Apart from the hits he had with ELO, in early 1979 Michael Kaminski made the Top 40 of the UK Singles Chart as the frontman of a one-hit wonder group called Violinski, with the single "Clog Dance".[4]"

Is that that bloke who used to beat the stuffing out of his violin with ELO?? Sure is. What gave it away? Did you recognize him or his blue violin?

Was he the guy that was killed by a runaway hay bale? No, that was Mike Edwards.

I actually saw Violinski in some nightclub in Worcester when he had that hit out - he left an indelible blank on my memory.

The combination I think ... put it this way, I would not have recognised him without his blue violin, but I think he's tall. We saw ELO at Wembley in 198something and he left an indelible impression on me. I like strings in rock used with welly, but the impression was (I'll put it politely) "I wish he wouldn't do that, the violin sounds like it's suffering and so am I". The overall sound that night was like a buzz saw, my companion swore he was never going to ELO again and never has!
