To cut it short, it was mostly shite after BFY. Correct. It amazes me that there are so many people out there that rave about "The Party Ain't Over Yet" album and all the associated horseshit....it's like they're scared to admit that the fact is, after1978, Quo were shite. Sorry folks - they were shite. Its great to be in the presents of fellow QUO fans who knew/know that the band went totally crap after BFY , lets be honest they lost any backbone that they had {Alan & John knew }, then there's the fans who think anything that Rossi and Parfitt was/is responsible for is good , regardless of how crap and unquo that music is .

I have never considered Quo as crap after any certain time. Different certainly yes, and not scaling the fantastic peaks of the FF era - but nonetheless there is enough material in that 30 yr period that I still really like on its own merits.
The fact that Francis and Rick have been the permanent fixtures throughout both eras isn't relevant to this opinion either. Its simply been an opinion based on the CQ collective
The flip side to all this though has been thoroughly outlined in posts on this thread already - and therefore most of any appreciation of the CQ back catalogue is essentially left redundant and irrelevant through a totally dumbing down of band identity and cheapening of what they stand for.

1/10 ... absolute crap album 1? Yep, cos I do like the song Don't mind if I do and can listen to The power of Rock. EDIT: Whoops, sorry Detroit, realised only this morning when i revisited the thread I had put in Don;t mind if i do from Ain;t complaining... doesn;t really matter all that much I guess though since both were crap albums to me anyway..

In joint first place with "Thirsty Work", it is probably the most famous thing named after that small Austrian alpine village........."Uttascheitt"....

Just a comment in general about unpopularity. We cannot all like or dislike the same things and it would be very boring for discussion if that was the case!

I didn't buy the album when it was released because I had lost all interest in Quo's output at the time. Some years later though I bought the Rocking all over the years video and saw Quo perform Little Dreamer, Perfect Remedy and The Power of Rock. I loved TPOR instantly and thought PR and LD weren't too bad. When I got the CD a little while later, I was a tad disappointed because said songs had sounded so much better live than on CD, and I didn't enjoy the rest of the album at all. I actually felt (and still feel) that songs like Address Book and Tommy's in Love were/are extremely embarrassing.

I won't argue over a year or two. The more I listen to you old guard guys, I'm glad I didn't discover Quo back then. I really am. I love IYCSTH and NTL, classic albums, and JS, WYW and RAOTW are damned close. I also like a lot of the later stuff. I'm sorry you guys don't, but if knowing them back then means I would have had your opinion, I'm glad I didn't.

Now before I start this ain't a pop at you AQ , its a pop at what the band became as is now and what fans 'this' band have now . recently I found out that my 25 year old lad had a m8 who's a quo fan , { cool I though } , but about a week ago while we where driving home from work my lad was on a group chat thing on his phone and I asked if Johns on { the quo fan } yes he was , so I asked my lad to ask him what the best quo song ever , what was the reply ? foooking RAOTW . I REST MY CASE . true story btw .

Missed this album in 1989 didn't know it was out. By the time I heard it in 1991 I had already bought RTYD and I loved the sound of that. Also I had started getting the early stuff. So I found this album very tame and some tracks I just did not like very much. They have grown on me a bit these days but it's 5/10 mainly for The Power Of Rock.

A 'hits only' Quo fan then.

Sorry folks - they were shite. It amazes me that some people think that their opinion somehow holds more worth than others', and that somebody confuses OPINION with FACT. I'm not a fan of "The Party Ain't Over Yet", but I love "In Search of the Fourth Chord". As does freewilly and some others I think as well. In my humble opinion, liking bits and bobs here and there and disliking others is a far more respectable and well grounded opinion because it means that there's no prejudice at work that leads people to look at certain things with rose-tinted glasses and at others with shit-tinted ones.

Upon hearing it,the record company declined to spend a single penny promoting it and the producer tried to have his name removed from the credits. I think that those two facts tell you how shite Perfect Remedy really is.
