I'm just glad that I didn't buy this album until 5 years ago with the bonus tracks, most of which piss all over the originals.
I do however like BB......I know I shouldn't but I do.
Played it this morning actually whilst stripping wallpaper........what a rock n roll lifestyle I lead.
No more than a 4 from me.

I generally prefer 70 's music..but looking back I think the period from late seventies to early/ mid eighties saw the biggest ever range of music to get into...New Romantics like Human League, Spandau, ABC..then groups like Culture Club, Imagination, Bucks Fizz.. Deary me, You are so Lucky I was told off by CG. Apparently when I'm drunk I am rude. "Fracking" in combination with "off" might illude censorship. Imagination should really frack off. (Bucks Fizz too.)

God, I hate this even more than the previous calamitous affair. The only real saving grace is the ballad "Who Gets the Love?", with support from "Don't Mind If I Do" and "I Know You're Leaving" on which is essentially a piss poor late 80's pop album. I actually believe that "One For The Money" was the worst Quo track upto that point in time (Worse was to come) and even worse than the likes of Margy Time and others. It makes me shudder if I hear it. Truly awful.
Ain't Complaining 1/10 Everytime I Think of You 1/10 One For the Money 0/10 Another Shipwreck 1/10 Don't Mind If I Do 3/10 I Know You're Leaving 3/10 Cross That Bridge 1/10 Cream Of the Crop 2/10 The Loving Game 1/10 Who Gets The Love 4/10 Burning Breaches 1/10 Magic 1/10
I think averaging these scores gives the album an overall average of 1.5/10

I quite like this album! For once I'm glad I've looked on here - I'm going to play it now!! Thanks people!! Good album at a time when this type of album suited the style of music that was around! 8/10

At the risk of getting slagged off because I actually like this album, I don't think there's a duff song on it. Sure, it's not FF and it's not heavy rock either but very much an album of its time (production-wise), but this is the album that got me into Quo in the first place so it'll always be a bit special to me. 8/10 You should never worry about telling the truth and you're as entitled to your opinion as the next person.....

(Bucks Fizz too.) Its quite simple Charles - you can say that any of those artists are crap - we all have different tastes and opinions. I'm not a fan of them either. What we discourage is telling another member to "f-off" if you don't like what they're saying. That is all. No need to the sarcy digs at me.

Hi All, I bought the album when it was released and IMHO it was Quo adapting to the ever changing music scene that was the eighties, having said this it also firmly entrenched them as a Poprock act rather than the Rockboogie band that so many fans had grown up with and so wanted more of.
While I can listen to the album and not mind it as the band I fell in love with at school they had changed completely and were heading off at a tangent to the music I loved to just rock out I mean the third track 'One For The Money' come on be honest sounds like something level 42 would do!.......
As an album to listen to with no malice 5/10 as a Quo album 1/10 it's a different band altogether and not what I wanted as a rock fan. If you take a look at what was released the same month and year at a push you can see why they opted for the softer option. In all honesty if they had followed 'In The Army' with a good rocker instead of trying to fit in with the cool aid of pop they would have survived easy, I mean just look at some other notable rockers (Below link) from the same year, they kept to their roots and are still around....
Edit: Incidentally I bought the Bonus track edition of the album cd, that has an extra six tracks all of which should have gone on the original release IMHO, substituting some of the soppier tracks especially the released singles that have B-sides of (AC-'That's Alright'/Lean Machine-12")(Who get the love- Halloween & The Reason For Goodbye-12") even the 'Running All Over The World' is better than some of the pop tripe on AC...........

Cross that Bridge, Burning Bridges and Dont Mind if I Do are bearable. I can't rate it because at that stage I was just buying the cassettes to support the band and keep up with what they were doing (something I swore I would never do when I was younger and more naive, but this is Quo we are talking about) as rate it against what? The big wide world? It's good quality pop with a minimum of distinguishing features, like most of those late 80s/early 90s albums.
OK let's say 3. I think that may be generous though.

Overall much better than ITAN. Although not a top 20 Quo album either. I'll give it 2/10. Unlike most of You I think Burning Bridges is one of the strongest tracks on this record, at least if you exclude the instrumental interlude parts. Really like the verses and for CQ I think it's ok. But if FF did this song I don't think I would be that enthusiastic.

I also like Burning Bridges. It utilises the familiar jig theme used over the years and I have good memories of a Christmas gig bouncing up and down to this with very nice Scottish folk we met at that gig
Along with the likes of Who Gets The Love, I would vote this as one of the best songs on the album - its at least one of the most familiarly Quo-esque songs with less contrived 80's plastic quality about it than some of the others.
This, irrespective of the fact that it is still not liked by many other longer standing fans

Again like ITAN, Its an album that means a lot to me for nostalgia. It reminds me of the great family holidays I had and in particular one fantastic school hoilday with my friends. Yes it's very 80s but I am an 80s child so again I see why it's hated but. 8/10 nostagia again.
