Hi. New to the forum!
I was wondering if any body knows who is playing the slide guitar on Reason for Living? Did Rossi play slide? I think it's really nice (even if not in perfect pitch at the end) as contrast to the other solo guitar. I know that Pip Williams did some slide on RAOTW as well but do You know any other quosong that includes slide?

Rossi plays slide on Under The Influence and the cover of The Futures So Bright. I would have said it was him on Reason For Living as who else was doing lead guitar for them at that point.

Rick chips in a mad slidey bit in "Gotta Go Home", not sure if he's using his finger or a slide though. Either way, it's not very accomplished sounding.
There's also a slide imitating a car engine in "Keep 'Em Coming", and those little frills Rossi does in the verse of "The Wanderer", after the solo.

The solo in Not fade away also sounds like slide....generally a lot of slide on the UTI Album!
also AB Blues has some slide in it, I think!?

Thanks, I like it anyway. Hi Viza, and welcome to the board! This thread made me smile. Having asked a question about slide on one particular song , you have now been treated to a full history of SQ and the slide guitar, details of it's every use, including bits done by the producer on an obscure b-side Back on topic, yes, the slide on rfl is very good !

Yes, I think the slide fits very well on ARFL but the slide part on rest of the tunes mentioned here can't compete at all. ARFL has a very bluesy tone, which the others doesn't have.
The original question is hard to answer and I maybe we have to guess on Rossi.

I agree, the slide solo in RfL is awesome, but the one in Resurrection is not far behind! Other Songs mentioned do have only more subtle use of slide, more for the "effect"

It's Rossi. You can tell in the style of the playing that it's Francis through and through.
