Remember the post Live Aid Quo period being full of 'will they/won't they' carry on rumours, was it really the 'End' of my Favourite Band? The rumour mill was in overdrive back then, pre internet days...

Summer 1985, IE after Live Aid when the RC decided to make them honor their contract. Before that the solo albums could have come out and maybe they could have ironed out their differences over time.

I do remember reading a Sunday newspaper magazine from 86, headline something like "SQ betrayed me, but my lawyers gave them a thwack on the nose"
Obv there was more in the rock press. In interviews that year Alan was saying things like "Me and Pete have been replaced by a pair of ballerinas".
