Track #1;- HalloweenGreat opening track and should be known that it is one of Ricks favourites from the unreleased album.
Track #2;- One More Reason (999)It's an alright song, not one of the best from the album. Not sure what could make it better tbh...
Track #3;- Lonely NightsNow this is one of the better songs from the album. Staccato'd synth throughout, similar to the synths we hear on the Army album. The song is pretty much perfect. The structure, the solo and everything about the song musically! Brilliant.
Track #4;- Only Love (Can Break Your Heart)Lovely softer song that opens up with Pip playing the riff backed up by Rick playing the chords drowned with chorus and a delayed tambourine before Jeff and Rhino come in. Underlaying "Ooo's" during the verse which become "Ahhh's" during the chorus. Nice little solo from Pip during the middle section, and some great vocals from Rick especially towards the end of the track.
Track #5;- Don't Give It UpA fairly decent song. One of the better ones chosen to be used as a Quo B-Side.
Track #6;- Long Legged GirlsNot too bad, not too good... just plods along.
Track #7;- Show Me The WayThe opening to this song has a very Hawaiian feel to it. Rick on an acoustic with Pip playing a lead break over the top on a Strat from the sounds of it. 2 solo's, with the first being on a saxophone before Pip comes in with the 2nd solo. The shaker (cabasa / shekere) throughout the song definitely adds to it.
Track #8;- Late Last NightFootloose... sorry I mean Late Last Night
Quite like the solo from Pip. This song dates back to the Heat Sessions, but wasn't used at the time.
Track #9;- Miss My Baby (Dedicated to Marietta)Now, I've always thought this song was about about the loss of his daughter Heidi, but after hearing it again and listening to the lyrics, it seems to be about him missing Marietta.
"I close my eyes, and try to sleep,
Another dream, but I’m still here,
In dreams of love, I can’t let go…
I stay out late, and kiss the girls,
I lie, she believes every word
The pain I’m feeling, I deserve..."
along with...
"I’ve been writing, but I don’t hear word,
Calling her name, but I never heard"
Track #10;- Without You (Dedicated to Rick Parfitt Jnr.)About his estranged relationship with his son, Rick Parfitt Jnr., at the time... which was re-recorded for his solo album "Over And Out" with the lyrics slightly altered. I prefer this version to the newer version.
