I've seen photos from Butlins that Spud played a yellow Premier kit. Was it the original kit from the NTL tour? Did he say anything about it or did he get any questions about it during the interview section? i wonder if he has got it restored recently, just for the Butlins gig or have you seen him use it earlier this year too? Very interesting if it's the original kit, not least considering that he also still has the old Ludwig set from the sixties - early seventies. I wonder if he also still have the black Premier kit and the mirror chrome Premier kit? Does anybody here know?

It's the original and it was recently restored. I've heard that he might be putting it up for auction next year

John mentioned the restored kit during one of his short talks in the JCQ set last night. All the original parts have been unearthed to put it back together. It looked and sounded great!

Have vivid memories of seeing the yellow kit up on stage on the drum riser, back in 1981! Not something easily forgotten!
Fairly sure John had tried to flog one of the yellow toms on that TV programme from a few years ago called The Life Laundry. John signed it etc, but not sure that he found a buyer for it in the end. Not sure how much he was hoping to get as they were trying to sell stuff at a car boot type sale.
He said something about the kit having been specially made for him at the time.

John has just put up a great vid on his facebook site. He wanders to the front of the stage to see/ hear how his drums were sounding in the sound check for ROLD.
He also confirms dont believe everything on TV, he still has the yellow snare.
