Two Way Traffic is the standout track for me. Lots of filler on there though.Dust to Gold is good too. Production was good way better than the latest offering in my opinion Cheers

This doesn't give me much confidence for the rest of the album , as I dont like Two Way Traffic. Too many words sang too quickly on yet another Rossi vocal . I will however give it a go. Flicked through it previously but cant remember much about it.

Favourite Quo Album: On The Level

Probably in a minority of 1 here, but my favourite from the album is 'Any Way You Like It'. Something irresistable and laid back about it, and the little guitar riff sounds fresh and kinda neat to my ears.

Enjoyed the album for a while but the thing missing from practically all the tracks are those driving 12 bar boogie/shuffle riffing notes/chords from Parfitt. They seem strangely absent from the album - and I miss them! There's even organ horns on Lets Rock! Its an accomplished AOR album nonetheless.

I love about half the album. Frozen Hero isn't a favorite, or Two Way Street, although both are okay. Better Than That is awesome for singing along with as you speed on back roads. Rock and Roll and You is great. Despite the silly lyrics Let's Rock is a lot of fun. Can't See for Lookin' is also one I really enjoy, as well as It's All About You.

Listened to it for the first time. The first three songs are great. Can't really enjoy songs like Let's Rock, maybe it's the lyrics, to sing about rock makes it less rock to me. The rest is OK songs but nothing special. Don't understand why they included In The Army Now, they haven't even reworked the arrangement, it's pretty much the same. Dust to Gold should be a better way to close the album and its the best song I think. The sound is great, maybe the best post FF sounding album. Overall I like this better than Backbone and I think I can judge them equally as this album is new to me as well (well I have heard some songs like Two Way Traffic for example).

An album that tries too hard to copy other bands and falls short.

Just bought Backbone and played it twice, some of the songs i like, on others time will tell. Same with this album. The thing is I still love Mr Rossi's voice. It is just a bit different to other rock or pop group singers. Quo songs like Down Down and Caroline and many more are played quite fast but they have a lovely melody and tempo to them from my non musician view. Some of the songs on this album lack that feel and groove. Dust To Gold is a great effort and new Quo not trying to be old Quo. Two Way Traffic is new Quo trying to be old Quo but does not do much for me. Rock n roll and You is good. Guilty pleasure is "Leave A Little Light On " with Rick sounding good. Not a bad effort all in.

In the Army Now was obviously included to help sell the album to the casual fan. I never listen to it so it doesn't bother me that it's on there.

Listened to part of it. Got as far as Movin' On (Moving On ?). Will try the second half later. I got bored listening to it. Dust to Gold was the best by far. The rest... hmmm. Not for me. Instantly forgetable.

Do I still go back and listen to Quid Pro Quo, now and then?...answer: Yes
Do I skip tracks?...answer: Yes, quite a few.
Which tracks do I think have stood the test of time and still reasonably fresh sounding?...answer: Two Way Traffic, Dust To Gold, Frozen Hero and Movin' On.
What especially appealed to me about the album?...answer: the guitar lead breaks and licks are exceptional throughout. Could have been John Miles (remember him?) on guitar as the breaks are that interesting! Even to the point where a lead break/lick helped to save a few of the more mediocre tracks from being completely uninteresting.
Summary: Still listen and enjoy some of the album. A ballad or a standard shuffle would have been welcome to mix things up. They steered dangerously close, with tracks such as 'My Old Ways', towards 'Racey' territory! Remember that band from the late 70s/early 80s? 'Lay Your Love (on me)', 'Some Girls' etc. Not knocking 'Racey' as they didn't pretend to be anything other than pop. Quo were sometimes accused of choreography with their stage moves but 'Racey' were the masters in that department!
