Interesting as I’ve heard mostly positive comments about this album (I’ve yet to hear it) but it seems it’s the best received of the albums for a long time. The previous few albums have produced many differing reviews mainly on the negative side but this new one hasn’t copped many bruises upon its release. I’m looking forward to my copy. I’m not expecting a QUO album quite obviously from a 70 year old Francis, along with me no longer the teenager but as a 60 year old so I’ll give it a spin... LOUD of course. Hey Bill... give it a few more listens..LOUDER!!

Still looks good, Status Quo number 2 in the album charts. If that makes you happy. That’s no bad thing. In the last 25 years I don’t think I have taken notice of the charts once. Bullshit we've all looked at the charts!!! I remember so many speculating on the chart position for Heavy Traffic, back then!!!

Do remember discussion about Ricks album. So ‘bullshit’ it seems is your generalisation. We haven’t all. You all may have.

That's very good! I'm not very exited with Backbone, I rate it 6/10, but that is because I like the FF sound. It has however very good melodies. Rossi is still a very good songwriter. Malone's "Face the music" promises good things for the future. I just wish they had the balls to make a more rock than pop album. Rossi was once so good in writing hard rockin' songs. A shame his heart was never in it (if we should believe a word he says about the 70's) Being at no 2 is still important for the band. It gives them exposure and airplay. And a good motivator for a new album in the future!

I don't quite understand why you are responding so harshly to fans who show an interest in the album.

America Quo doesn’t like it, so I said he should ignore the advice of listening to it again and listen to something better. I knew in advance most people on here would like it. Why wouldn’t they ? They’ve liked previous albums made in the last 20 years.

Normally, an album under the Quo name usually has a song that brings me back to it. I personally love ISOTFC. QPQ had a handful of real gems. BQ for me had All That Money and GoGoGo. Aquostic 1 had a few I liked. But, the next one didnt and this, while there are some decent tracks on Backbone, nothing it seems to be calling me back at all. Even TW has Goin Nowhere, I Didnt Mean It, Like It Or Not, Lover Of The Human Race and Sherri that call me back. Backbone has nowt really on there for me. Then again, I've had Thriller, Bad and Back in Black on all week so anything is gonna appear bland in comparison to those

I accept my tastes have changed. This week it’s mostly been Behemoth, Tool, The Faces and The Beastie Boys. If it wasn’t for their early works I wouldn’t listen to this kind of pop rock.

Went to see Curtis Stigers in a jazz bar in NYC back in May and been hooked on him since too. Also this....Just like giving my soul a massage In terms of Backbone, great people are liking it. I posted my "review" the other night and none of it was bad, just didn't particularly fit for me.

No. The songs are OK but, they just don't sound "real" if that makes sense. The snare drum sounds like a biscuit tin. Guitars sound overly processed. I like really liked Get Out Of My Head and then it just wore off me. It's like 1982 for me. Listened to it once and it's not for me
