Maybe the Isle of Wight festival a week latter would have been a better option for them. Though late 1969 was right in the middle of their musical identity crisis, was it not?

I guess they were in the frame to promote the Spare Parts album. Antique Angelique would have fitted right in there with Hendrix Voodoo Child ! 😂 😂

You are funny. I watched that great doc which Donthingitmatters recommend and discovered that The Stones and the Beatles turned it down. Maybe they thought they should too. There were a lot of lesser known bands playing though, and they had had their no 1 hit in 68, so maybe, its a fair question. I guess it comes down to, were they asked? I actually wonder if they would have, had they been.

ive askmyself this question before… given the US hit POMM for early Quo... wonder how things would have turned out in the US if they had been in Woodstock... Then again, which set would they have played in Aug 68?

Would they have had a good enough set? I haven't seen any setlists from '68, but certainly in 1969 they were playing a cover-heavy set. Would they have had the confidence to go out playing a lot of other people's songs?
