The contents are Alan's choice, presumably he just wanted it to be material from the Aim High album.

TRACKLISTING: City Out Of Control (8'32) Is This The Way To Say Goodbye (2'57) She's A Mystery (3'10) Small Talk (4'22) Running In The Shadows (6'10) No Danger (5'07) Rising Star (4'08) Aim High (3'43) Crime Investigator (4'42) So, no Quo tracks. I saw this vintage of the Bombers a couple of times and they did some Quo/Angels stuff as well as originals. Notably I also saw Bob Young come on and guest on Roadhouse one night. JC didn't last long before he got the bullet. Yeah same here , saw them 3 times and the last with John on drums but I don’t believe he got the bullet . I recall the advertising of the gig was like ‘and special guest from England John Coghlan Status Quo drummer. I mean the plan was to hit Europe, with backing from the record company but something fell flat with that deal. There were no plans for JC to move over here permanently as a member of the band.

There’s a good account of the situation, the ramifications and all the reasons (!) in the excellent book; Coghlan and Quo.

It’s a great book. It’s not by John himself but I think he was heavily involved. Same guy wrote an absolutely stunning book about Jack Bruce. If you want yet another angle on the whole thing there’s always Patty Parfitt’s weird and wonderful tome.

Seem to remember Alan being quoted in Kerrang along the lines of "John can be a great live drummer but it wasn't coming together in the studio"
Ive read John's book but can't now remember anything about it

It basically says that JC got the boot coz he was still playing the rock star when the rest of the band were humping their own gear around.

Think I'll be selling my signed copy then
For those who don't know, I was in Coghlan's Quo for 11 years, then a further 6 years with John in 'The Five B's Band. I recall at one gig, the author Steven Myatt came along with a recorder & asked us all to say a few words about John for inclusion in the book
Its a good book, although there are a few horrendous factual errors, the one that I most recall is that it says that there were no hit singles from the On The Level album. Er, I'm quite certain that Quo's only number 1 is from On The Level.

Yep, there's some other factual clangers in there too and a couple of the author's personal opinions that shouldn't have made it to print. There's also lots of history that we hadn't heard before.
There's a few new words from Alan and John about the live album in the upcoming FTMO magazine.

I read JC's Book on Kindle sometime ago.
It filled-in a few areas that were not common knowledge.

It basically says that JC got the boot coz he was still playing the rock star when the rest of the band were humping their own gear around. If Rossi's new book is to believed 100%, then Alan was playing the 'rock star' stuff on the reunions. Take it all with a pinch of salt personally.

Possibly easier and cheaper to get the rights to the Bombers material than Quo stuff ...

I've since found it strange that she scoffs at Rossi's laments about Rick in his book when she basically described him in much the same way in hers... You could even argue some of her claims paint Rick in an even worse light.... But,hey ho..

Just looking at some old newspaper interviews and there is no doubt JC was originally meant to join the band on a permanent basis and make Oz his new base. That is what he says himself. I can't find anything on him leaving but do remember Nuff saying something didn't click.
