But he is ok to churn out poor pop rock like he was in his 30s. With 2/3rds of the same band. Amazing for a 70 year old apparently. Have a listen to Ian Hunter older than Francis yet still recording great music. It’s not about whether they are or not similar to the past but the lack of quality. Rob Halford still seems to be able to record great metal. As above Also Rob Halford and his band look like a complete bunch of tossers on stage. Looks to me like Christopher Lee running around the Bram Stoker set screaming No, no, no...…. Truly pathetic. No need for the insults towards whatever you think of his music.

If he he had wanted to make a Status Quo Record why he didn’t took the chance during the reunion 13/14. He would have had to give up creative control and he wouldn’t have made more money than he does. And what makes you think their combined Songwriting abilities would have still been there for it ? All they did was 2 tours playing their original material from 40...yes 40 years earlier. If you think they would have produced a Piledriver or a Hello then you are living in cloud cuckoo land. The last album they wrote for was B2B... great album... I’ll hold my laugh in. I think you would probably have found their collective creative juices ebbing as much as you think the current bands have. We will never know. So what you have is what you’ve got. Take them or leave them. Yeah it’s ok in my eyes to still make comment. It’s a free society but I’ll probably disagree with most lol.

Truly ridiculous that some still have expectancies that a 70 yr old will produce classic rock music he was producing in his 20/30s with a totally different band Acdc can still do it,Whitesnake,Judas Priest etc. Why not Rossi? Cheers i find it very interesting that you include Whitesnake in there when you're so vehement about the difference between classic and modern Quo. The difference between classic Whitesnake and post 87 MTV americanized Whitesnake is far greater, from utterly top class British blues rock to sanitized AOR recorded for the dollar not the music. Also if you strip away the recording technology it's very sad to say the Cov hasn't had "the voice" in well over a decade. Live he "sings" over a vocally enhanced backing track and has for years, but even that shows the frailty in his voice. I was at a small and very private party a few years ago when Cov and Bernie Marsden were there and ended up on stage. Bernie nailed it vocally, Cov managed a ragged Walking in the Shadow of the Blues and called it a day.

I joined the internet in 1999 and started to read discussions about a band called Status Quo...oh the irony...

Rossi likes pop / melody. He has told you that and that is what he plays with his band. You take it or leave it. So you have given up on your previous argument ! Hi sorty, wasn't aware I was in an argument just opinion. What argument?

DC have done things well enough to keep a huge fanbase, not change image and sound, and not embarass/alienate fans If Quo had consistently made disappointing rock albums from 1982 onwards and kept the same image and sound, they'd be at least 10 times bigger than they now are But way too late to change that now

I guarantee if they had failed to make a dent there, then they would’ve faded away long ago. Haha I couldn’t imagine Angus and Malcolm making guest appearances on ‘Neighbours (ala Francis n Rick on Coronation St)’ to keep the band ticking over

Just listen to "Slacktone" and it was okay for the first six seconds until it became clear that the promising intro was not going to be followed by some semblance of the Status Quo I like. I instead put on the outro from Is There A Better Way and the last 30 seconds of Down Down and decided that these few seconds are better than anything they produced in any shape or form since the play out on Mystery Song. They've been shit for longer than they were any good!
