As are you with your defending of everything the band masquerading as Status Quo does Cheers Not true, I don’t defend everything they do at all, but I am still a fan and still enjoy the band. You on the other hand can’t wait to slaughter everything they do, a perfect example watching 30 seconds of a 1 hour gig. Have a day off. I’m a fan too but not of this line up,no need for a day off it’s all about opinions anyway but thanks for the advice Cheers

There are no stage tapes in use during Whatever You Want... infact, they hardly use stage tapes anymore. The only songs they are using them for currently is Liberty Lane and In The Army Now, but the mix they use for Army these days is completely different and shite to what they used from '86 to early 2000s

I was just looking on twitter for any more tweets about the gigs with LS and read another positive one with a pic. I checked the reply underneath which said that they saw them at the O2, the Christmas show and they were great. "The original Quo."
I had a little chuckle at that.

Regarding the "mistakes" Rossi has been doing them now for several years, yes mistakes happen in a live performance but the way FR does them i dunno some seem forced & not genuine. He blatantly misses lyrics or messes up guitar solos at every gig.

I went to Wembley and Birmingham and they were both fantastic gigs. Quo were definitely rockier and seemed to have lost that cabaret feel that I experienced from them at Hammersmith last time. After that show, I didn’t particularly want to see them again. But when this tour was announced, I was tempted back to see Skynyrd as I had never seen them before. I thought Rhino did a good job singing Rain, really enjoyed it and glad that they have dropped the pause in the middle when Rick used to swing his guitar. Obviously less appropriate now without him but I think they used to milk it a bit and prefer the song to drive on as per the record. I think Richie has settled in now and I enjoyed his version of Mystery Song. I was more worried about how Francis would perform when I saw a clip beforehand of him horrendously slurring the words on ROLD. Thankfully I dion’t think he did that at the weekend.... (If artists can’t show respect to their own work, how can they expect anyone else to take them seriously?) I am really liking Cut me some Slack. Not sure yet about Liberty Lane. Would have preferred them to have dropped the Boriental, but hey, a lot of people like it. Personally I thought the crowd were rocking throughout their set. Obviously will never be 1979 again but my faith has been restored somewhat and I would now go and see them again. Oh and Skynyrd were also fabulous!

Erm ... never mind the glitch, they rolled over that like true pros ... who is actually singing WYW? Is that Andy? he's just not hitting the notes. That hurts a lot more than the odd half line going missing. Francis' voice may be a bit rough these days, but he's pitching fine. And so is Rhino, even if he doesn't sound just like Rick. Is that Richie doing Mystery Song? He's fine - again, "It's not Rick", but Richie is obviously a singer.
The new songs fit in just fine though they do sound like versions of older songs, but that's bound to happen after 50-something years. CMSS is basically Reality Cheque (which I liked, so that's OK) without the slinky.
The crowd looks fine, OK they are not jumping up and down, but it's not a core Quo crowd. Not everyone jumps up and down. Some of us are getting too old to jump up and down very much (having strained my hip last week just doing a little jog up the hill ... and over it, clearly!)

It was Francis slurring that put me off last time ... if he's stopped, that's a good sign. Maybe he's realised it's not a stylistic "USP". If he has to miss the odd word or line because he's out of breath or drying up (or just losing it) that's OK. When he smears the words around it just sounds as if he IS losing it.
I now find I've got Liberty Lane lodged in my ear after that ... it doesn't mean I like it (undecided) but it does mean it's got some sticking power ... When are we going to get a new "You'll Come Round", or "April Spring"?

I think the Scarborough gig was better than the whole of the reunion rough macho tours and far superior than anything Status Quo had done before that
