Are we any closer to the release of the 1975 gigs or the '79 one?
Is there any way we can get the Quo camp to pull their heads out of their arses and actually release decent unheard material?

You'll be waiting a long time for those to be released, especially the '75 gigs. Porter and Rossi need to get involved and start getting releases sorted as currently it's just left for U to do it, and they have the least interest in getting any 24 track master tapes remixed and released Cheers

I know that mixing can be a really tricky business, but if we at least get the individual levels and the panning made that would be more than enough for me! If Universal have no interest in the material though many fans wants to hear it, so this idea feels like the right way to go IMO. Or could there be legal problems to release it for us diehards as a part of your project? We could pay more for these recordings so there'll be more money for charity/the Shona Foundation, so it feels like a win/win project for all parts (in my opinion of course)

Good idea but no chance!!! The only way to release this live recordings are as official bootlegs with permission by the record company, the management and of course the band and composers. So unfortunately I can‘t see any Rescued Recordings releases... It‘s a tricky business and Luke + Andy has to be very careful with their SQRR stuff. I‘m really sorry and it‘s sad but reality.

I guessed so... Let's hope and keep our fingers crossed that Universal decides to start an "Official bootleg serie", just like Rolling Stones "From the Vault" releases.

From what I know the relationship isn't too good between Quo and U. As far as I know RTYD is still the only album that has the greenlight for this years deluxe editions. And I'd rather the gigs get an official release to get all media attention other than through the Facebook group Cheers

I wonder whether Universal would be amenable to licensing the recordings for release on one of those minor labels that specialise in this type of archive material.

I wonder whether Universal would be amenable to licensing the recordings for release on one of those minor labels that specialise in this type of archive material. Many other bands have attempted things like that only for it to fall on deaf ears, and a lot have resorted to doing it without permission and god knows how much trouble that's got them in. Thing is, considering Universal lost over 500,000 songs / master reels 10 years ago youd think they'd have a completely different attitude towards archive material and would want it digitised and released. Cheers

For some reason, it seems the majors have mostly stopped licensing out albums to smaller specialist labels for good. God knows why.
